background story's like that are what keep getting these threads nuked. I suggest you remove it and don't post another such background story.

Just stick with pictures, and maybe explain what you did wrong in trainz to cause the crash.

I remember once the AI driver was headed to a waypoint, he stopped past a dead-end siding, then backed down the siding and ran off the dead end of the track. To this day I don't understand why

Thats the kind of background story you can post without offending anyone, so stick to that

That movie was eriely, non-funny.

In the cab view it said: "Whoa..Who turned that on"...what handle are you referring to ?
All I saw was the independant brake handle possibly on, and throttle position Run 8 ?

Brings to mind the crash at Gunpowder Falls, where the 3 CR units pulled out into the path of the oncomming 110mph Colonial Limited, on the NEC years ago. Your wreck would have a tad more emergency responders than one firetruck and one ambulance, rushing to the scene, as your wreck would have been super aweful bad, at that speed, with accordian and climbover all most all of both the entire two trains.

But then again...it's only Trainz simulator...and not real life.

cascaderailroad,
I was referring to the music. When I was looking ahead, I put on the Emergency brake with Pause/Break. It was in Run 8 because the "engineer" was suppose to not have seen that the switch wasn't set properly.

Yes, I know all too much about that wreck... *shivers* My intentions where to see how much of a train wreck I could create with Trainz. I intended no harm, but I suppose it was suggesting a bad topic.

I guess I should balance out the bad vibe with a good, tribute to Trainz, video:

On the contrary, i think it's very funny. I just imagine that engineer head-bangin' on the radio, hears something bad come on, goes to change the station, looks up and...BAM! Amcrash!

Then he groans..."Medic..."

Radios, TV's, CD players, music, newspapers...anything that could distract an engineer, all all thoroughly forbidden onboard locomotives, and all across all rail properties...only the company handbook and safety bullitins are allowed to be in possesion by all employees on the job...zero tollerance !

There will be no "banging of heads" on RR property !

I personally thought that the video was very well prepared and thought out, even if the engine would have plowed further onto the platform and such.

BTW, it doesn't remind me of that wreck at all.

SantaFebuff
May 11th, 2010, 05:37 PM
After I had filmed and published the movie on my computer, and had no yet uploaded it to YouTube, I noticed that too. However, I also noticed I forgot to remove the travelers from the platform, and decided to leave it be. In Part 2, the passengers are gone, and I will insure that everyone comes out okay, and that there will be plenty of action.

As for the wrong side of the road... I honestly get confused since I watched and learn about a ton of British things that I start to doubt myself and end up incorrectly putting the car on the wrong side.

Cheers,
Joshua

EDIT: Did someone say I did a "well thought out job"? 'Cause I did it in one hour and I didn't think about it. If I would have, I wouldn't have made it so poorly.

Yeah, "No tolerance." that's why an annoying buzzer goes off every thirty seconds when you're on the main:hehe: I don't know about most people, but that would keep me scatterbrained, then next thing you know i pull an Allistair and speed up when it says slow down...right into the Canadian.

I believe it's a good thing though. Remember that Metrolink disaster? Texting, not paying attention, and rammed head-on into a Union Pacific freight train.

Regardless, it is pointless to discuss prototypical affairs, when this whole topic idea is to discuss fake, and unreal affairs of Trainz railroads. In which, you are not forced to undergo any safety measures whatsoever.

This is meant to show the funny derailments of virtual locomotives and cars that may represent the true locomotives, but is not meant to actually replicate the disaster itself. Instead, just show the disaster...without all the grief.

Cheers,
Joshua

On the Australian-Long Straight, engineers have to push a deadman switch button every 60 seconds, or the train comes to a halt, as it thinks you have dozed off.

sawyer811
May 13th, 2010, 05:46 PM
I'd rather take the older diesels with their deadman's pedals. i can throw the manual (which i didn't bother to read:eek: ) on it to keep her in gear. Then lean back, crank up the music (which i can get cause i hacked the communications radio) and kick her into run 8.

or if its an ALCo, run 16, but still, bliss.

 I have way to much time on my hands. that's literally how i picture myself in an engine cab. umm....

Ay yi yi.

I laid down a bit of track with some random topology and a random consist to test my new JR Seaboard SD50. Due to my horribly thrown together grade & junctions, the long freight ran into...um...a bit of a snag, to say the least. (My worst wreck in Trainz history.)

cascaderailroad
June 1st, 2011, 12:07 AM
Its kinda funny how a whole consist jumps up a couple hundered feet, right on through the mountain tunnel and ends up above the terrain ... and if there is a deep chasim, or valley several railcars continue to eternally hop up and down like Mexican Jumpin' Beans.

I forget how many miles of train I had on the BC Spiral loops ( I think it was 2 miles long) ?

The I edited the config file of the PRR Abandoned Signal and converted it from being a trackside object, and I instead made it a into a scenery object, and added the tag: rotate-yz-range -94,94

The film is a colage, spliced together Fraps clips, edited in MS Moviemaker, of driver & surveyor mode, especially where she hears the train, then rotates, and leans on the signal. Then the signal tips over, she turns back and forth (looking to see if anyone noticed what she done did), and she then decides to run for help.

I noticed when I made a video a few days ago that it's pretty unnerving heading into that track because you cannot see the stops until you are nearly there. It should probably have a 5mph speed limit.

Looks like the bridge wasn't connected to the track causing a derailment of the engine. That's a nice engine patchy, is it available somewhere? If so can I get a link.

Thanks,

Subway train went too fast over a switch that was set against it. Thankfully, it was an empty train that was dead-heading to a yard, so nobody was hurt!
