While reading these forums I accidentaly clicked on something called "Display Modes" (upper right). I didn't know it so it took me awhile to figure out what had happened.
How long has that feature been going on?

That had me going also. It always did exist in your profile under how you wanted to display stuff, but I'm not sure if it was on the forum page before now.

Well, what does it do? I don't want to click on it until I get some info.

Go on click it ...I did seems pointless to me.

Threaded mode has a top display which has an indentured list to the original post and subsequent related posts but only displays the original post. The Linear mode is the default forum mode that displays the original post and all subsequent posts. Hybrid mode has both displays. Try them to see for yourself, it won't hurt anything. If you like the original list all display simply select end up by Switching to Linear Mode.

As for me, myself and I, linear mode is the only one that makes any sense.

I agree SuperFudd.

I've been to forums that have used the threaded method, and it just looks messy and isn't very useful at all.

I'll stick to the Linear mode too.
