I see rules for timetables with many dependancies on other rules, Pathing rules and Auto type rules as well. Not at all sure when and how to use these. Scheduling via a timetable sounds like an interesting goal but unsure of where to begin.

The path rule allows a train to pre set its path from A to B and locks out other trains until it has completed its journey. It would be used at complicated junctions or yards and the auto pilot is needed to run the train through the path thats been set.
I have a train drive to a trackmark before a large station then use the path rule to set its route to the required platform using auto pilot. When it passes the release trigger it gives control of junctions back for others to use. Set up the rule in edit sessions and check the path and auto pilot commands in the driver commands section.
