These "fatal errors" on exiting the game seem to be a bug in TRS2004 and TRS2006. I haven't used TS2009 enough to know if it has been fixed. I asked Auran this same question about 3 years ago but of course never got an answer. It has been my observation that it seems to happen more frequently on larger routes than on small ones, and it seems to happen when you exit "too quickly". After you close Surveyor and go to the main screen to exit, try waiting 30 seconds or so before exiting the game. It would seem that it takes the games a while to "put away" all the stuff you have just been using in Surveyor, and if you interupt that process too quicky you get the error message.

thanks for the response: yes maybe the answer you gave me is right my layout is big it has about 27 industries in it and about 500 miles of track. that I built and planning to build another one with more industries and track.
