I spent about 90 minutes downloading Trainz 2009 (2.5GB), tried to install it on XP, and got an error:

WinRAR self-extracting archive
Extracting setup-1b.bin
Extracting setup-1a.bin
CRC failed in setup-1a.bin
The file "???" header is corrupt.

Not super impressed or happy this very moment. Quite disappointed in fact.

Any thoughts about what caused this? The download file size reports to be:
2,613,147KB

I had the same problem as you, one of the files was corrupt at unzipping. A new d/load only will fix it, check whether any of the files are individually available instead of the whole RAR packet.

Cheers

I tried re-downloading the 2.5GB file using the download manager as recommended by Aurun. The same results; CRC error.

I had the same problem. The only way for me to fix it was to repair the damaged file.

 jeromestrach, I am having exactly the same file download problems you have described except that my file is 2 GB according to properties, and my 3rd and 4th lines (red) said:
CRC failed in setup-1A.bin
Unexpected end of archive

Have you come up with any way to download the file or fix the problem?calico534

No Callico, I have not come up with - nor heard - a solution to this problem. And I cannot find a "Contact Us" or "Tech Support" line to help me with my $30 purchase issue. To date.

If anyone can recommend a process to follow, that would be very appreciated. Thank you.

Did you use a download manager as was recommended on the purchase page? I followed the link to it, downloaded and installed it then used it - I had no problems with the download or TS2009.

Auran did have a disclaimer that problems could occur without the use of a download manager.

Brian.

Sorry - missed the other post about the download manager.

:) Joremestrach, I guess you have straightened out your problem of downloading TS2009 by now, but just in case you haven't maybe this will help. I contacted the Helpdesk, and they sent me back this answer.

"Download and install one of the following Download Manager software programs to assist your download.
http://www.freedownloadmanager.org (http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/)
http://getright.com/ (http://getright.com/)
http://www.internetdownloadmanager.com/ (http://www.internetdownloadmanager.com/)

Once you have installed the Download Manager software, click on the following link or paste into your Download Manager.

http://download.ts2009.com/TS2009_WBE.exe (http://download.ts2009.com/TS2009_WBE.exe)

Note: By using a Download Manager you can resume downloading if you have connection problems. Most programs also have an option to accelerate the download.

Regards,

Auran HelpDesk
www.auran.com/helpdesk"

I used http://getright.com/ and was able to download and let getright install the program (one of the options on the download with getright).
Also I believe that someone that answered your question mentioned that the Internet Explorer did not like to download files over 2.0 GB, which I think is what caused the problem we had. Good Luck calico534

Hello,

I'm having exactly the same problem with the TS2009_WBE.exe -file. Either setup-1a.bin or setup-1b.bin - or both - is failed.

I've downloaded the exe-file four times now, from both sources that are available. I've been using Getright for the downloading, and have tried extracting the package with both WinRar and IZarc. Unsuccessfully.

I'm getting a bit annoyed and frustrated with this and I'd appreciate any help. As you may guess, there hasn't been any answer from Auran Helpdesk.
