Maybe many of you don't know that we have a busy Screenies Subforum at IBerTrainZ ( http://foro.ibertrainz.eu/index.php?board=13.0 (http://foro.ibertrainz.com/index.php?board=13.0) ) and we wish you to have a look at some of them on this occasional sampler.

So, to start with, some of the PrintScreenworks from our screenshooters...

Humbly, some of mine...

The FORD Car Yard Kit

This pack contains:

--> A Car Factory Yard for three products:

* Produces Ford Escort Estate Car (by TomYoung, at the DS - KUID:92263:62521)
* Produces Ford Transit 2000 MM Van (by TomYoung, at the DS - KUID:92263:62701)
* Consumes Perchpole's kuid2:44988:80090:3 Steel Coils - kuid2:44988:80090:3 also at the DS )

--> A flatcar for carrying those car products and others already previously released by me or other creators.

Note: In order to keep a constant car manufacturingyou'll have to provide the industry with the steel coils mentioned above. You can use Perchpole's flatcars or mine --> http://www.auran.com/TRS2004/DLS_viewasset.php?AssetID=63659

This car factory is a perfect companion for the magnificent FORD factory in Valencia (Spain) made by mcortes at the DS KUID2: 234284:39050:1 http://www.auran.com/TRS2004/DLS_viewasset.php?AssetID=98281 and ish6's superb Car Factories http://www.auran.com/TRS2004/DLS_viewasset.php?AssetID=89603 and http://www.auran.com/TRS2004/DLS_viewasset.php?AssetID=66945 (and the new one to come).

Download the pack from the DS --> http://www.auran.com/TRS2004/DLS_packcontents.php?AssetPackID=12206

BTW, if TomYoung, creator of the Ford car products reads this thread, please note that The Ford Fiesta product is undownlodable from the DS. Something is preventing it from being possible. I have already sent some e-mails to him, but got no response.

Why should we? Is it compulsory to tell? Take it or leave it. ;) Sometimes we feel that making and offering trainzy stuff for free is a compulsory task for some of you, demanding guys.

If you don't have that asset, just 'delete missing assets from the map' and nobody cares.

Well, I think that the best solution for those lacking this asset (-it's not essential at all-) consists of using the "delete missing assets" in Surveyor.

Unaware of being payware -just picked it up from the asset selector-, the original creator of the route included it, and we, while checking it, didn't notice this fact. Our apologies for that.

Anyway, I have written Jean Luc Bernard from 'La France en Trains' just in case there's a solution for this.

============================================

Making use of this matter, I would like to make a suggestion to payware creators:

So that route creators know what they are including in their routes (payware or not), I do think it would be a good idea if payware assets were labelled with a Payware icon on the preview window. Maybe we can agree a common icon for that.

==============================================

Take care,

Alberte :)

Wiley4
August 10th, 2007, 07:15 PM
I agree Alberte, about an icon being present in surveyor, but I think it should be one that defines whether the asset selected is on the DLS.

In the old forum I made a suggestion about this:

Adding a DLS icon to assets
http://www.wiley4.net/images/dls_old.jpg

Rolling stock as well
http://www.wiley4.net/images/dls2.jpg

Auran would have to implement this though, maybe an inhouse kuid issued for the DLS icon, which inturn gets added to every config file that gets checked and approved during the upload process to the DLS.

Once in place, maybe a batch file process could be run on the DLS to update the config files already there. Even if this meant temporarily making the DLS unavailable while the process was carried out.

If a unique piece of code was/is required to achieve this, maybe a small patch could be released to update our end of the business.

Only ideas guys, I thought this might be worth kicking around again.

Sorry Alberte, I've hi-jacked your thread, maybe this needs a thread of it's own for genuine discussion.

Cheers
Wiley :)

zatovisualworks
August 10th, 2007, 07:31 PM
Never mind, Ray, this is a good place to discuss on this. ;)

There are four positions on most of kinds of assets to place one of these icons. I think is a good a idea, the one you are passing on. And mine about Payware assets too.

I have already purchased many payware assets and all of the stuff is living together amongst the rest of contents. I always hesitate about the -ware status when selecting a item to to be included in my modules. Besides, some payware creators have also freeware and sometimes you have problems to be in the right track of the -ware.

The huge size of the magnificent route advised us to split it into two independent routes (The Standard and Narrow Gauge ones) even though it is also offered complete for strong-hearted computing systems.

I just wish I had the patience to search for all those assets that are not on the Download Station, even if you do have a S&R service.

As a suggestion, would it be possible for you guys to host a zip or a rar file that contains all the missing dependencies?

I don't think so, dear Ishie. You know that our policy with team-made rolling stock and locos is 'keeping them' in our website: :hehe: Not everybody shares the love I give to the DS.

But IBTZ will remain alive for years to come as long as a Trainz version keeps working in a computer, let's say, an atomic comp, for instance :hehe:. Hope by then everything will be running smoothly. :p So assets will be sound&safe there.

Hi Francis,

You are very kind. On behalf of all the IBTZ Community creators, thank you very much. One of our main reasons for trainzing consists of 'sharing'

Yes, sometimes having both sources of assets is more useful if the DS fails. Of course, the server hosting IBTZ can fail too but it rarely does.

As for kuid queries and availability, we keep open channels everywhere:
Our international forum where every language is welcomed -who fears diversity- :hehe: Sorry, Chinese, Arab or Russian will need more time to be deciphered ;)
This official thread over here
All the language forums where our help is needed.
The Trainz Forum Network: TRP, UK Trainz, Razorback, Trainz depot, FraTrainz and IBTZ forumsThank you again for your support which feeds us but doesn't make us get fat in petulance, staying humble and "as are". I also want to thank all the wonderful creators all over the world who have supported us by giving permisisions to reskins or using parts of their assets for ours. If we can boast something, that something is 'friends in the INT'L Trainz Community'

That's how we understand this "trainzy thing": Share and collaboration.

Take care and have a peaceful weekend,

Alberte

Hi Gisa

If you mean the 444 EMU, no, you don't. We have changed the lighting and general running by using Andi06's Superscript Library, which is also at the DS.

http://www.ibertrainz.eu/noticias/wp-content/uploads/2007/11/superscriptlogo.png

These units are configured by using Andi06's Superscript Library, available at the DS –> HERE (http://www.auran.com/TRS2004/DLS_viewasset.php?AssetID=106445) which allows you to select some initial parameters:

Own driver (a lady) or the default one
Wipers on (if rain appears)
Headlights on
Taillights on

No problem, my friend. Except for the latest routes (TRS2006-built) most of rolling stock and objects install and run nicely in TRS2004. Always check our Trainz version logos at the bottom of every article on the IBTZ Download Manager...

Thanks Alberte! The pantograph helped and it shows up beautifully!
But I have to admit...I was disappointed in the passengers as I saw a woman with a baby standing up in that crowded subway car, while several other young gentlemen were standing. Geez no manners...:o:hehe:

Thanks for the help and yeah, as kilanziom directly and wisely put it: I too like the format with which you introduce the latest releases! :D It's kind of like looking at a fancy magazine where I can get anything I want! :D Too bad real life wasn't like that...;)

Take care!

Gisa ^^
p.s. I'll have a chance to try to recall my French when I'm back in Canada this May for my wedding reception. ^^ If I ever get competent at gmax, maybe I'll make some Korean stuff for everyone...

:hehe: No manners at all. Trainz programmers should be better-mannered and set up the passenger.gs script not allowing ladies with babies to stay standing. :hehe: Some kind of preference rule, alike the priority for trains. :p

On one of the Russian websites, I picked up a train set that apparently was made by Ibertrainz. Really nice and well detailed :)
