Some one tell me what "CDP" stands for please?

No, dmdrake, it's Contact Dispatcher Pack. It's a speical Trainz extention for addons. The symbol is gold with TRS2006(or '04, not sure,)

I just saw it was Pack, not Package. And yes, it was. With the '04 thing, I mean like the old one for TRS2004, (if there was one).

its used for uploading stuff. i dont know exactly what it is but i know what its used for.

CDP's are used for saving space, it's Trainz way to compress a file, like zip. You can also pack several assets in one single pack. The compression-rate varies depending on what kind of assets being packed but is roughly around 50% of the original.

They burn easily to CD or DVD and write very fast to a USB-stick. Ideal for backup.

What file do you even put the .cdp files in?

You don't. The Download Helper will unpack and install them automatically for you.
