TER Chicago Line part one will be from Buffalo to Rochester NY and on east in later versions.
We have track charts and Conrail ZST maps of the entire route. I've also made several research trips over the years that we have had the route planned.

Here are some screenshots.

The route is created thus far in TRS2004.
Payware or Freeware?, The status of the route is undecided and to be announced in the appropriate forum when a decision has been made.

Thank you, I'm almost speechless. This complement really brightened up my day.
As for me being the best route builder I doubt that as there are many very talented builders amongst us.

You definitely are on par with the elite. You have developed any easily recognizable style as well. Once the Christmas spending is done, I expect to be adding your works to my collection. Bravo.

Hi John thank you for the kind words, I'm completely flattered.
Yes most of our routes are built for mid to high end computers due to the high amount of detail and large size of the route in some cases.

On the other hand.
Over the past year we have been working on new techniques to maintain our standard in trackside and urban quality over large areas, while maintaining better fps for lower end computers. Our test routes using low poly trees and back drops have been met with much success overall.
With practice and feedback from our customers we have developed and will continue to define a new system of route design in many cases. All of this has been implemented into Chicago Line; and it is indeed one of our smoothest running routes for its size thus far.

I am not sure of your computer specs or how the route will run for you, but you can all be sure that more people will be able to run this product at improved fps then ever before.

hi grogstop,
im glad you are starting to work on routes for better fps. i recently downloaded your fall in the northeast route, and it runs fine on my computer. only problem is there seems to be a glitch that blurs everything, but i'll post some pics of that on the official fall in the northeast thread. but eather way, it is a great route, you can hardly tell there are backdrops in it. i hope to see some more high fps routes coming soon.

Yes, the sky blurs sometimes. There is a simple way of fixing it (On a side note, I belive its because it's a missing asset) But go into Survayer and select a standard sky from there. It should work fine. :D

Thusly I don't know much about who's who, though I'm starting to see some pretty cool members (No offence to anyone, I probably just haven't seen you much). But for sure, I can tell that you (John) are a GREAT route builder!!! Any thoughts about maybe some NE corridor routes, I live near boston, and am obsessed with Amtrak, especially the NE corridor lines (MBTA to, but anyway)? And if those amfleets are passenger enabled, than WHERE IN GOD'S NAME CAN I GET THEM??? Nice route to say again!!

WCL, Last time I checked you were not on TER nor did you know what the status of our route is, If your so worried and concern why dont you take your cheek self and make your own damn route.

John is doing a well done job gettin this route as realistic as possible, no one can do a great job like he did in a short amount of time, and last time we all checked, he was the active person working on this project, not only this BUT he has had to recover from surgery, manage a buisness, and manage the production and sales of all the other routes. If you dont like it, TER isnt here to ask what you think or when you think it will be finished, We are here to show you whats been in production. Now if you will, take your bored self to some other forum.

I have been quite busy lately with college as the work load becomes ever more heavy for Game Art and Design. As for recovering from surgery, I am finally able to hit the gym again which has been thankfully taking up ever more time.
The route is secondary to my workout and of course anything from the Art Institute.

I will complete this and any other route on my own time frame which will not be made public and is subject to change.

Well said John. Some people just don't understand the meaning of "responsibility;" they've never had any!

Best wishes for both your health and your studies.

As for recovering from surgery, I am finally able to hit the gym again which has been thankfully taking up ever more time.
The route is secondary to my workout and of course anything from the Art Institute.

Off-topic ... just curious ...
So John takes his workout serious ...

As for me
430 lbs bench Press
650 lbs squat (parallel) ... 760 quarter squats
550 dead lift ...

Very strong overall, like a diesel trainz, but power lifting is my main focus, not to mention shoulder Push-ups with 335 lbs ... at a height of 5ft 5 inches and 200 pounds ..

Like a slug trainz ... small but strong everlastings ...

Holy smokes Ish, those are some big numbers!
All that weight would even crush me before the surgery's let alone after. I have some friends that are power lifters and my brother is a competitive bodybuilder I just fitness model,
so we all take our work outs very serous in my family haha

Cool... I always say, find what you are looking for from a work-out point of view and stick with it ... either it's keeping in shape or jsut pushing oneself...

Good Luck with your recovery phase ... wish you he best ..

Ish

PS. Can't find the cdp to send you ... if not I redo it ...:)

Uhm, the Chicago line isnt electrified.:rolleyes:umm, it actually looks like he used catanary with power lines on top, and is using the catanary as more power lines. I can seehow you might think the way u did though;)

These catanary make for great trackside wire poles. If the route was electric then you think I'd have the center poled catanary between the tracks and not barried in brush 15 or so feet off the the side.

Not really as the waterlevel route doesnt have that kind of trackside poles, they are horizontal and not slanted..

Putting down? Hardly.. Its merely constructive criticism, look at my profile and see where im from, i live along the route. I was being a good member of the community and helping to make a more accurate route, take it however you want.

I'm running my routes with a gig of ram with no problem at all, however all of my routes in the past were designed with 512 ram. Considering this route is lower poly then most of our routes in the past I'd go with 512. Once the route is beta tested we will be able to give you a better figure.

what? thats it!....i have 760 MB of ram or something like that...so i should be able to run it ok ?....oh and by the way it looks really nice...i didnt really read some of the comments so is this for 04 or 06

Those shots are crazy sweet.

I was wondering if you should call them screen shots, or works of art.

Though I must say the colors make me feel depressed. :p

I am amazed by this route, and would love to buy it, but my only concern is that I will buy it, but my computer won't be able to run it and I will have wasted the money on something I cant use. Is there some way for me to see if this will run on my pc before I buy it? Or a way to get my money back if it dosen't? This would also open the door to the rest of your routes wich I havn't downloaded for the same reason.
