I am curious i am hearing that the TANE fucntions for Steam Engines in Advanced driving mode may not work. do they work at ALL?

and if so what are the limits? i know there may be fixes coming i am curious about now thanks.

the manual has a detailed chapter on this but i just assumed it all worked but need to know if not...and what the limitations are and if there are work arounds.

thanks.

Hi Chris --

By "Advanced Mode" do you mean what was called, and I still call, "Cab Mode"? Where the driver has control of brake (locomotive and train), regulator, cut-off, ... .

If so the answer is yes, but if and only if the locomotive has been correctly configured, with a T:ANE interior, enginespec, ... that works in Cab Mode.

There are any number of locomotives on the Download Station that don't work. And many that do.

If you want to try one that does, download the high-stepping Pacific I uploaded a short while ago. Search for "Loco S&A 4-6-2 #750". It's one of several of Ben Neal's masterpieces that I've ported into T:ANE.

ChrisFunny I've been complaining about steam locos in Trainz for 15 years but I'm not sure what you are referring to here. Exactly what functions did you hear are not working in TANE?
