A very rare and valuable model railway collection that was kept a secret for 40 years with the owners staff of full time technicians banned from speaking about it, has been donated to the Ipswich Rail Museum in Queensland. The collection, which is estimated to be worth millions of dollars, contains custom built models of famous locomotives including the "Mallard".

Very nice and a good reason to visit the museum when they get on display. The article doesn't say what scale they are and some look rather large.

Once the "Train collection" is put together for an exhibition, I'll be one of the first to get my tickets.

Ipswich Rail Museum is a fantastic place for the family to visit and you could easily spend all day there.

To keep track of when it will take place, here's the link.

This is quite a display and I can see why it was so difficult to keep quiet, and I'm glad the collection was donated to a museum rather than broken up and sold piecemeal.

I agree with Paul (pcas1986) those models look quite large. From the initial video I figured they must be HO and larger.

They look more like gauge 0 to me.
