I am in awe of your screenshots. The details are impressive. Very instructive on how to use objects in a realistic manner. A true artist at work.

That last shot is almost timeless and could be anywhere in Europe with minor cosmetic alterations from at least the 1940's to the 1970's.
the attention to detail/texturing etc
Any of us as a child who have stopped on a bridge in the days of steam to wait and see what was coming around the corner would identify with it (well i know i would).
Its like a picture has been taken in that era and then scanned into Trainz using a program not yet invented for us

That's the splendour of Trainz! Difficult to make it better, Dan! :D

I think that other sims trying to make its way in will have a hard work to do! They will need a long time to show beauties like this, starting from scratch. Right now they lack the 3rd party assets required to create wonderful virtual worlds like yours.

Go for it, Dan! And as always our gratitude to all the trainzy asset creators.

Alberte :D

Darkdan I love your screenshots but can you help me out? What are you using for the low scrubby bushes? I have searched high and low, but the best I can manage for low scrub is small trees sunk in the ground. It looks OK, but nothing compared to yours...

Thank you for the kind words, Alberte ... and you are right : without the many assets creators nothing could be done :)

I am afraid I cannot help you very much, Andy, because all I do in my map to make bushes is using three or four different small trees (shapes and colours) sunk in the ground too.

Just a few words... ;)

Finish it ASAP, please. I don't want to be iterative but... you are one of the greatest.. if not the greatest.

Please, all of you, the rest of great route builders, my apologies if I'm unfair to you but this is really great. Or take it as if simply I do love it, and, you know, Trainz is a matter of personal liking. Just that.

Thank you for the kind words... :)

I am afraid I am really not a fast builder, Alberte... :(

If I think I don't have the right idea for the part of the area I am working on or if I see that my idea doesn't look good when done, I just stop building until I find a way to create the area like I feel it has to be. It is sometimes a very slow, painly and frustrating way to work but I feel not fine when I try to leave things in the map that are not like I want them to be... :o

It looks so .. so ... amazing. ;) :)
Especially the last shot. The slushy earth surface looks so real.

Holly mother of God! This is awesome, unbelievable and absolutely fantastic. The first thing I did was to copy all of the pictures and burn them (together with some appropriate music) on a DVD and now I enjoy a perfect slide show on my big screen TV. Very relaxing and enjoyable...

Please, please, make it available one day. Payware or freeware I just have to run some trains on it.

Thank you for the experience you've given us so far.

Thank you all for the kind words and well done with your picture, Barney :)

The new route (B-Project2 extension and B-Project) is build with TRS 2004, on 37-38 baseboards and will be freeware.

About the texturing of the last screenshot, I use the excellent new textures of the FMA team : they did the good work, I didn't. ;)

Darkdan,

Awesome route!

I have two questions:

Where can one download that great looking black freight crane in your screenshot?

Also, is the B-Project Extended Beta route you released part of B-Project 2 or is it a completely seperate route?

Darkdan
March 25th, 2007, 03:56 PM
Hello, leader2302,

The crane come from http://www.trensim.com/

I made B-Project (available on DLS) and I am now building B-Project2, which will include the first map (and is not yet available).

Asser asked me permission to extend B-Project and made his own extension of the map (you will find his thread about his fine work in the Screenshots forum) now available on the DLS (I think his final version is for TRS2006 only, but I am not sure)

So, I think my English is bad. I've asked were can I get the ground texture that you put under the tracks? Do you understand? :)

Darkdan
April 5th, 2007, 01:30 PM
I use build-in textures from TRS2004 (french version)

- first a green one from Great Britain : gazon a (texture 16 in the textures window of surveyor) everywhere.

- then 4 mixed textures : ger gravel 01 (12), ger mud 01 (17) from Germany and gazon a1 (17) and gazon sec mottes (15) from Great Britain, sprayed here and there to make a natural feeling.

I hope this will help and sorry for not answering to your first post :)

THX man! I will, ur route is high quality and is worth to search for the missing items...:) I'm not soo good to build routes so I often use layouts made by others. I like the combination of nice scenic landscape and steam...old buildings....dirty tracks...and so on..

Showed up red for me too.
The dependencies downloaded though.
Then I downloaded the route from the Download page link and then imported it.
Lots of unknown dependencies though!

Hi kaiser --

Screen shots look great.

I was tempted to download this route until I saw that the download list is as long as my arm, and then some. How many dependencies does it need?

And even then it seems that I will have to go on that elusive kuid hunt.

kaiser, just out of curiosity, how many non-DLS dependencies are there?

Phil

I do not remember exactly, 150-200?

Here is a link list for asset locations. It's the last 50 that is a bit tricky, if only Trainzitalia assets was kuid: tracable, you would be left with 5-6?

Darkdan, do you manipulate your screenshots before posting them ?

If yes: I (!) do not really like this. Doesn't look really like original Trainz screenshot. There are even more pixels to be seen which decreases the quality of your screens.

Partyman79,

I am really sorry that you don't like my screenshots.

Fortunately, I mainly post screenshots in my own threads to show my routes and nothing forces you to open these threads and to look at them.

So, we both can live happy, me with my screenshots and you without them. :)

Lovely looking layout Darkdan, been looking forward to it.:D I just have a major problem, when I load the map in trainz I get a fatal error which causes trainz to crash. I don't really know what the problem is,has anyone experienced any problems like that? It's probably something wrong down my end,I just wish I knew what it was,I really want to get it working though,it looks great.:)

I am really sorry to have said a very little bit like critizism. And as often critisized people say: You do not need to install or look etc. What a constructive dialogue ;)

To me it doesn't matter if you use a sharpener for your screenshots or not. But I guess everybody has a right to express his oppinion. By all respect why shouldn't I say that - in my oppinion - your screenshots were looking better if no sharpener (which causes pixel effects) was used.

Last but not least: No, this does not mean you have to do things somebody tells you and I won'T speak about it again.

I am sorry you have this problem with the map, somebody mail me today that he has the same problem.

Darkdan, I have now been driving around in your amazingly beautiful landscape for hours. I´m very impressed by your scill and what can be done with Trainz.

It´s very fun to drive and explore and it will a very good inspiration when it´s time to start building in my own route again. Thanks for this masterpiece!

I have 2006 + SP1 and all I had to do was to press Download by Download Helper (One single press!) and there it was a little later, ready to enjoy!
No error messages, everything just perfect!
(A few stations and bridges wasn´t there, but I´ll find them or replace them).

Cheers,

Thanks for your help,I use TRS04,so we are ok there.I used the download helper to download the missing assets off the DLS first. Iceman, when you say industries, are these industries not on the DLS and when missing will cause this problem? :)

sorry that i must disturb you darkdan.I like your first b-project and was very happy to see that your b-project2 is on the dls.most of the content i found but some of it i couldn't found. ok some post links here for the most of it but i thought i could start the map with some missing parts, but all the time i try to start the map my trs06+sp1 is going down with an error message.is it possible to get the missing parts to exclude that it doesn't come from some missing content?

for those having trouble finding things at Trainzitalia, if you click on PRO at the top, then choose 'free downloads' on the left, at the bottom you wil see "kuid list" with a down arrow.
click on that and you will get a PDF document listing EVERY single kuid on the sit and it's location.

It's a brilliant idea and I thank the person who took the time to produce it.

thanks for any assistance.

KUID96663 belongs to me. You find my objects on the HO TTrainz (wwwdottrainzdothu) website under the Downloads/FMA. A short - free and english - registration is needed.
