I've been playing with an extended crossing script which adds a configurable detection distance and a whole bunch of other stuff to the standard mocrossing object. There are two problems.

1. Its not possible to assign a track to an attached-trigger (or to be more accurate you can assign it but it doesn't work)
2. Its not possible to kick off a tracksearch from a crossing object. If you try to do so the code will step forwards or back to the next or prior junction or scenerywithtrack object.

Both of these issues would be solved if you were to enable use-named-track for crossings as well as fixed-track objects. Any chance of this happening?

I don't see why not. I'll slip this in to the next test build and you can try it out and let me know. v4.3

Thanks.

With no particular end-result in mind turntables might also be a candidate?

Turntables have it on by default. Did you want the ability to turn it off there?
