Well tell 'em to STAY OFF OF 614!! :hehe:

It has been mentioned in many places that the "Safety" Express was not continued past 1981 because of the excessive amounts grade crossing accidents almost caused because of the massive amounts of people standing and parking to close to the track and the amount of trespassing on railroad property!

Those people should practice safety and stay off the tracks.

Well, I road the Chessie Safety Express in '80 and '81 and the passengers were unloaded at the Thurmond depot and not allowed to simply wander out onto tracks during the photo run-by. The Chessie officials and the C.P. Huntington RRHS volunteers kept the passengers "herded" away from the tracks on the platforms in front of the Thurmond depot.

There were however a good number of railfans who drove to Thurmond to meet the track and take photos who wandered around the various tracks in Thurmond. But not anywhere near the numbers depicted in the screen-shot. There were maybe a few dozen railfans, at most.

The linesman (Platelayer or track worker) standing here admiring the GWR Prairie hauled goods train, seems to be totally oblivious to the danger he's in! He's got his back to the Southern Railway Express that's hurtling down the line behind him and he's right beside the 750V DC third rail!

This is from a work in progress called The Hungry Horse River Route. It is based on the Hungry Horse Logging Co. layout from Model Railroader. I just used the basic track plan and went from there. http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o232/jjslll54/jjslll54_20150221_0002_zps29cc4339.jpg (http://s121.photobucket.com/user/jjslll54/media/jjslll54_20150221_0002_zps29cc4339.jpg.html)

So very difficult to choose once again. My 3 choices are:

Chris2001trainz2010 = excellent capture of view point and scene in front.
JudahGrace = love the scene and how you have created it with the textures. Can feel the heat coming up from the ground and surrounding environment :)
Peterwise = Your loco looks very noble in the peaceful country setting.

Also a well deserved mention to Petrama25. Absolutely loved your shot. Feels very serene but with a touch of loneliness. The only thing that let it down for me was the very smooth and sharp pointed peak on the left side of the background hills. Looking forward to seeing more of your screenshots in the future :)

Another masterpiece Shaz!
