Zooming out in Surveyor

Hello out there
I am using T:ANE SP1 and have a question about surveyor.

Whilst in surveyor constructing a route from time to time I need to zoom out and check the whole route. Every time I do this both the background and baseboard are in blue. I would like the baseboard to be black, is there any way this can be achieved? This does not happen in driver only in surveyor.

Both!??? The background is always in blue (and unless you applied "water" to all your baseboards -which I know you hadn't), the baseboards should always be gray (in their original state). The baseboards are representative of the texture(s) applied; so if you placed a green texture in one spot and a brown one in another, these different colors will show in each of those spots (they had been applied), when zooming.

(Dovetail Games) TS2017 (or earlier), have a map screen with a white grid w/ both the "baseboards" and the "background" in the same shade of black. Are you sure you are not confusing the two?

If none of the aforementioned applies, there might be a bug, or a glitch... or a temporary one! Reboot TaNE and do everything all over, and see if you encounter this same issue again. Good luck! :)

The fog distance will affect your zoom out as well.

While in Surveyor, click on Main menu.

Edit Environment...

One of the options has fog distance.

Set that to none.

Well both the baseboard and the route [squares] are in the same blue colour and the track is a darker blue. As I mentioned this is only when zooming out in surveyor to review the layout. In driver when zooming out all is fine. Has me beat and tried almost everything imaginable to convert the baseboard colour to something other than blue. No luck at all.

Hey JC nope fog density set to zero this is not the prob but thanks for input. Kinda has me beat.

I had a hunch there was another problem, but threw out the fog-thing anyway because that can be somewhat of an issue. :D

Are the baseboards clear?

If so there's problems with the mini-map preview, which means you need to check the route its self.

Is this an imported route from a previous version such as TRS2006 directly to T:ANE?

If so this can cause that problem, if the filenames were changed to mapfile.xxx (xxx = the different extensions).

The best way to import old routes, prior to TS12 actually, is to import the old route into TRS2009 and above if you have that, save the route regardless of missing dependencies, then import that save into T:ANE.

Using this process, I brought in two routes which dated from December 2003 and February 2005.
