Mine is Faversham in Kent on the London Vic to Dover and Ramsgate line all class 375 and 365 all so class 399 high-speed to London St Pancreas do get Steam in the summer on runs down to Dover and Canterbury

Brixton, London, managed by Southeastern, trains every 30mins between Victoria and Orpington and quite a bit of freight behind class 60s and 66s. Lots of viaducts criss-crossing the area so plenty of opportunities to see trains coming and going. :)

The closest station(s) from where I live is the following:
-Stockton ACE Station: UP Tracks, 1 Platform, ACE Service (and limited Amtrak San Joaquin Services (first 2 trains to Bakersfield, last 2 trains to Sacramento)). This station is located east of Downtown Stockton.
-Stockton Amtrak Station: BNSF tracks, 2 tracks, 2 Platforms (1 active, 1 semi-active(only used when two trains come into the station)), Amtrak San Joaquin Service (I think 7-8 trains daily round trip).

Key:
ACE Trains: Stockton-San Jose
Amtrak San Joaquins: Oakland(Jack London Sq)-Bakersfield (with connections to LA and Las Vegas)

Mine is Scunthorpe on the Cleethorpes/Grimsby - Doncaster line.

It is operated by Northern Rail and mainly has the Cleethorpes - Manchester Airport service as well as the Scunthorpe to Lincoln service that stops at just about every station in the uk on it's way round. :D Ok, a bit over the top but just go to nationalrail.co.uk and check out the 10.18 Scunthorpe - Lincoln service.

By car it takes around 35 - 40 minutes, this train takes just short of 3 hours.

I would like to travel it, but it's a "skipper" on this service and has no toilet :D

Otherthan that there are plenty of freight trains to the steelworks, freight from the docks at Immingham and also the one that brings household waste from the Manchester area to a landfill site a few miles from Scunthorpe.

I knew 2 young boys going back nearly 40 years ago playing with railway detonators they found hidden in a shed at Erina Heights on the central coast NSW ,,well to the least 1 went off and blow most of 1 boys fingers off and disfigured his hand ,,he was so lucky to be alive,
so dont ever play with railway detonators
