Great horn...This should be a regular thread where eveyone posts their hornsounds wav and video's. I have always found that my common mistake I always make when video taping, is going to right where the grade crossing is...Crossing gate sound effects in the background can get annoying, that's why setting up farther +/-down the track, and especially 50'-100' away from the tracks can produce better sound effects, than right up close. If you set up @ 200' past the grade crossing you get all the ambiance of the hornsound and the overall scene...and you don't end up with a speaker blow out, deafening horn, blaring at 150db. And if you wave to the engineer, or set up too close to the tracks, they can blow out your sound system with a full hornsound.
My favorite has always been a great hornsound, with a dopler effect clanging bell going by. Same with steam locomotives...a really bassy throated whistle like the C&O#611 or NW#1218 had.
