Wiki TLR Data???

I always thought this was quality information from the Company. I could see some customer items in the Wiki but I guessed there was some form of compensation. If you step back and analyze the message and Wiki thing there are very smart customers here who are skilled in writing strong technical info sources. We should thank them!! All N3v does is manufacture and invoice. They seem to do that well. So, once again my thanks to the volunteers for helping us understand and use Trainz. Without them N3V would be a memory.

Generally, the people who are involved in writing articles for the Trainz Wiki are above board. If you are curious as to who they are, you can do that by viewing the article's history.

It could end up with all sorts of inaccuracies and misinformation.
Basically, you are correct. As the author of some of the Trainz Wiki Pages I do find myself having to go back and correct my work (sometimes frequently) as new information becomes available. This has been particularly true when new features, such as the HD Terrain and TLR, are released. There have been significant changes to the way the program, from both the UI and the user perspective, works.

But, as a "part time" professional technology writer (retired), I also understand how difficult and time consuming it is to get the documentation both correct and in an easily understandable form, particularly when things change from one release to another.

I fully understand why N3V stopped providing the extensive manual that came with Trainz when you got it on a CD/DVD. Keeping it up to date would easily be a full-time job for at least one staff member who I, and possibly many others, would argue could be better employed on fixing bugs and providing all the "must have it now" features so frequently demanded in these forums.

My thoughts and experiences.
