Which PEV Tool For This?

Could someone tell me which tool I need to use to break open the texture files of built in stuff so I could locate the tga file to reskin it? Please And Thanks!!!!!

I definitely agree with H222 on that one, as directly editing built-ins is a bad idea.

Also, at this point in time, my tutorial site is currently the only place where PEVSoft tools can be safely got from as PEV's site is under maintenance.

Ok I got this opened and made a change to the image do I have to save it as the .texture file again or can I just put the .tga in the file?

If you've got Images2TGA set up correctly, the conversion can be done simply by using Open With > Images2TGA.bat in Content Manager.

You can save it as a .tga but make sure there is a corresponding texture.txt file with the .tga file; Images2tga should have done this, but double check. You will also need to remove the original .texture file from the asset as Trainz will use that over a tga file.

am I doing something wrong? I opened the asset for edit in explorer and located the file, selected open with images2tga and I get this

That should be the latest one then, as I always keep that up to date.

Can I verify that you cloned the asset before proceeding? If you have, delete the cloned version and re-clone the asset.

That's half right. However, I would recommend that you run Images2TGA at least once to set up the Open With macro to simplify the task.
