Hello NYCBOY..............I have to agree wholeheartedly with you. I always check TomsHardware site, but I absolutely need to know what the Trainz folks have to say. This is the only graphics game that I enjoy, and what the folks here have to say about their graphics card means far more to me than what anyone else has to say. If I hear that Trainz sucks with card XYZ, then I wont touch it!!!!! I realize that there exists other things to consider, but since this is the game for me, those here have the final say FOR ME, not someone out in "never never land" who only plays other games.:wave: I love TRAINZ, and I am only interested in the performance as it relates to TRAINZ!!!!!! Have a great day, and I hope you get some opinions from those that play more of this than the others.............:hehe:
exactly!!!! I REALLY want perfermence. i hear some people say that the 9600GT is better then 8800GT. so what do you people think is better?

Well, a little time ago, I did some research on the same question, which is the better card and here are my results.
They both run the same in basic speed on the GPU speed 650 MHz, Memory speed 1.8 GHz, Memory Interface 256bit, both have a memory transfer rate of 57.6 GB/s. The differences are seen in hardware are seen below:-
9600 GT 512Mb has a G92 GPU, Shader frequency 1.625 GHz, Universal Shaders 64, and Texture Units 32.
8800 GT 512Mb has a G94 GPU, Shader frequency 1.5 GHz, Universal Shaders 112, and Texture Units 56.
So, with the exception of the shader frequency, the 8800GT is a better card. But wait, before all the 9600GT owners set upon me, the reality in benchmarks and back to back testing shows that the perfomance of a 8800GT over a 9600GT is not that significant. So if cost is a high concern for you, a 9600GT is a good investment. Please bear in mind though, that the 9600GT is the replacement for the 8600GT - alike for like comparison would be the 8800GT and 9800GT (if and when they bring it out).
There are also other considerations on whether you would want to buy a standard card, or a factory overclocked card, and how much Graphical memory a card has. My believe, backed by some articles I have read and benchmarks, is that the more ram a Graphics card has the more capable it is when there is a high intensity of graphics, i.e. running a layout / scenario with a lot of objects.
Now I appreciate that you are not interested in websites, but they can give an idea about compatative performance of cards, and incase you change your mind, or others are interested, here are some websites that have 8800GT and 9600GT comparisons.

i want a video card with better frames. like you said on B. so a card with more frames is the 9600GT?
