Where Do You Find The Time?

manjoe

Still Learning
August completed my first year in Trainz ( TRS2004 ). I am having a ball:udrool: . Where do you find time?

I am trying to build one good layout, and I stress TRYING!!!!!!

I look and see what else is available to download. All of Trainz is approaching 100,00 items !!!!!!!! My old eyeballs can barely stand it.

Oops! Gotta keep up with the Forum. Otherwise I wont learn or understand a darn thing. This is beginning to feel like a full-time job.

When all that is said and done, where in the heck does one find time to run the darn railroad(s) one is trying to build???? I mean, a 20,000 board layout!!!!!! Good grief...........

As usual, I remain baffled!!! Oh heck, back to the drawing board.

:D:D:D:D:D I couldn't have said it better myself...:D:D:D

I am having so much fun....I mean 6+ hours a day at this!!!!!! I used to be a so-called audio nut, keeping up with music and anything related to it. Then there was fishing, playing cards, hanging out somewhere. Then came TRAINZ. My life changed dramatically!!!!! I darn near threw all other activities out the window...

Using all of the wonderful items available, because of the people here, I find a new world of creativity. Of course, I have not graduated to the level of creating my own, but I feel like an artist. This is so refreshingly theropeutic, that I cant beleive it. When I am here, I forget about all other outside pressures, and that aint easy.

So I am hooked........HOOK, LINE, AND SINKER!!!!!!!!

i think trainz is great, forget about the real world and make a perfect world of your own... oh heck 6 bed room homes for every one... swimming pool? ok done sorry you want a jag rather that a ford excort? ok here we go slect cars click jag palce jag there we go... whats that GNER is being taken over by nation express... not in my world GNER have some more trains... wahts that?? rail ticket prices to high?? why not lose the ticket machine?

worried about missing the bus?? ill place two busses for every one :hehe:

litter no worries... war not in trainz... deaths not in trainz (must remember that then man in high viz jacket is still palced on the track must move him)

thats that? the bridge looks old and beaten up? ill replace it with out trains running late or not running at all... its perfect world in trainz... the grass is always green the sun always shines and the people are so nice and quite... :hehe: :hehe: :hehe: :hehe:

I know that my social life has gone after I got my Trainz :)

About two weeks before I discovered Trainz, I got ahold of Trainplayer. I said to myself, "Now that is interesting". To bad it is only tracks and a bunch of rectangles running around it. Somebody will improve the concept. Let me GOOGLE this thing....might be something to this.............WHOA!!!! Haven't looked back!!! Never gave Microsoft's Trains any consideration.

Well, back to spending time and more time..........:hehe:

You poor fools!

You obviously haven't realised:

Trainz IS the real world...

Mwaah hah hah haaah! :udrool:

Cheers (and lunacy)

This must be my greatest accidental come across since my first kiss. It is allowing me to do something I have always wanted to do and that is firstly drive a tram and secondly record the once extensive tram system that existed in my city until the trllss who run the place threw away the second biggest one in the UK.

LOL!
Tell me about it. Me and my dad never do anything anymore because Im at the computer all day and night. He gets me away most of the time though. ;)
Yes...never saw MSTS never heard of Trainz. Then there it was on a Best Buy shelf for 20 bucks, and presto now Im here! :D :D
And im lovin it!

I don't. I'm too much into building them and sometimes forget you're also supposed to run trains on the layouts.
20.000 boards is too much. 100 boards is plenty unless you're working on a super route, then 200 should handle anything you'll have time to actually play with.:D

 Claude

I'm too old for shoot-em-ups and racing cars, have never gone beyond the first screen. My grandkids refer to me behind me back as "Game Over". (There's no respect for the elderly these days.) So when I saw a Train Sim sitting there on the shelf, I honestly thought it would not be much of interest. "Drive your own steam train blah blah blah" on the box. Oh well, it might take up an hour or two.
Huh!! I've found a new life, new friends. Still in the toddling stage, sure, but lovin' every minute of it.
Cheers Everybody.

Talk about masochism! It took over 2 years, working every night and weekends, to build my first (and so far only) layout. And that was only about 400 boards! The one I'm currently working on is 1250 boards (groan!). Meanwhile I've collected about 55,000 assets via a 4kb/sec dial up connection. I thought 'Civilization' was addictive and time-consuming, but it's nothing compared to Trainz.

That's me too Claude. At first I downloaded a ton of layouts, thinking it would to too tough to build my own. But building them is the greatest satisfaction to me. I have to find time to run trains and test them! Boy, what a dilemma!!!!!:hehe:

I spend almost of my free time on the computer doing Trainz. I will sit on the computer Trainzing until Mom takes the computer away (it's so enticing, too, since I got my new Internet-capable, Trainz-capable laptop!!!).

I bought TRS '04 right around Easter of '05, and it grew from there. Used to be, the only computer in our house strong enough to handle Trainz was the desktop in the sunroom which, conincidentally, was the only computer to lack an internet connection. Now that I have internet and Trainz on one computer, I will be spending WAY more time on the computer than before.

Finally, it's too early in the morning for me to be anywhere near awake enough to write a competent post.
