does anyone know when the 3rd edition of Trainz Classics is coming out, the site says early 2008 (which by my watch is yesterday) i just wondered if anyone knew a more exact date

thanks in advance

Are you, perchance, new to Auran's product releases? The term "Soon" is a standard answer to these types of questions, and invariably means "Not as soon as we'd like". I think the last projected release date I've seen is 2nd quarter of 2008. I'm thinking maybe by Christmas?

Hello Colin, it does state the 2nd quarter of 2008 on the site, but as that is up to the end of June, at least it's better than Christmas.....:hehe:

I would also like to know when TC3 really is coming out, because I have abandoned all the signalling on my route, as it doesn't work well, and TC3 promises a new semaphore signalling system. But it seems we're not going to get a real answer!

No doubt many of you are itching for TC3, I am too, but i'd like it to be done right.

TRS2006 seemed to have been rushed out, needing a service pack which still didn't fix everything (and broke some other things?). TC1 & 2 weren't without their problems either. KRS is on the market and has persuaded some to jump the dyke. MSTS2 is in development and already certain people are hailing it as the best thing ever (even though it's many months away from release). TC3 therefore has competition, it needs to be a big step forward from previous incarnations (and I believe it will be), it can do without being rushed out. So as painful as it is, people need to be patient.:(

I think it will be worth the wait.

I'm eager to see TC3 but in particular experience with KRS has led me to support the notion that a few more weeks of testing - particularly new procedures and functionality - is better than a half cocked release with the developers then on the backfoot getting all defensive and protective. I am also particularly keen to see the new signalling in action, hopefully motivate me back into doing a TC3 based route once I've finished my current KRS project. (As the latter is likely to be released no earlier than Q3 2008, a late Q2 release of TC3 suits me fine!).
