To the untrained observer, I'm sure many people here can appear to be simple names who revolve around what they do with Trainz.

What I'd like to know is what everyone does besides Trainz?

Right now I'm living in a country distant from my own, working in seedy but lively bar which has an undying need to throw out drunken foreigners, and I am slowly forgetting that I am Australian. It's a lot of fun.
When I get time off I write, or play my lovely little Martin acoustic guitar. I named it Bessie. After Bessie smith.

So, when not Trainzing, what is everybody doing?

Your life sounds like fun. And this could be a really interesting thread. So, here is my contribution:

I'm retired and spend my time in Dallas, Tx with my wife, two daughters and five grandchildren. As it happens I have just started a college writing course and I hope to do some writing later. I don't play any instrument, but I would love to learn to play the guitar. I learned to play one song on a borrowed guitar while I was in Vietnam and I enjoyed it (although I'm sure my tent mates didn't enjoy that same song as much as I did). Playing the guitar, like writing is something I have wanted to do for a long time. This is all true and some of it seems like quite a coincidence.

Hearing your story about writing and playing the guitar after I have started a writing classs after so many years makes me want to pursue some other things I've put off doing. In fact, if I don't start soon I may not get to do them.

I've done more than I could've imagined...waiting for TRS

:cool: I cared for my dad's D35 Martin since 1975, I'm a Martin Expert...reared on Bluegrass Music. The more you play them, the better they sound!

I am a Dobro picker(resonophonic guitar), lap style three fingered.

I love to attend my church, and the Lord Jesus has been good to me!

The bulk of what I do, is train related, I call it studying history, by the railroad tracks.
 
I'm retired from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft R&D (electronics). Wife works at the local Hospital. 3 sons, 1 daughter, 3 grand sons, and 3 grand daughters spread all over the south. My day consist of 8 am to 3 PM on Gmax at which time I putt putt over to the local Biker bar (not what you think) and quaff brewskis until 9 PM or so while yakking about this-n-that and solving the worlds problems (hasn't worked yet - must need more beer, lol). Both my bikes have V-8 engines in them. I have a large telescope (always liked astronomy) and a 14.5 by 40 ft HOn3 model railroad (which I haven't touched since getting Gmax and Trainz). Just a retired old fart.

I have 2 little girls, Melanie 7 and Dana 3. Love trains of all sizes....

I have worked in my fathers Autobody shop since a kid, and messed with cars and mud trucks, still do! Was injured in a factory 4yrs ago (was there 10 years) slugging 40kg bags, loading rail cars(bulk and boxcars), semi trailers, driving lift truck. Also have worked in a blacksmith shop previous to that. (Coal and gas forging, welding)

I'm currently a stay at home dad, I work on project cars, and started a steam age HO layout recently, spend allot of time with that, and doing stuff with the kids, in the evenings and weekends I like to drink ice cold Budweiser;) and mess with models, waiting on Rapido to send me my CN steam gen car. Fall 08 release I believe!:udrool:

My wife is a waitress, and we try to hit train shows and museums when possible.

Oh and I'm really happy school is back in :confused:

I'm a bitter old man working odd hours for a health care center near Chicago, trying to raise 3 children under the age of ten with little money and no help from the mother. I'll be fifty next year, (unless my prayers are answered...in which case you'll notice that I don't post anymore!). I guess that means a timely death!

Yeah.....I'm a bit cynical as well!

If you make it to 66 , which I am hopeful you will , your bitterness will most likely increase , mine has !
But life no matter how bad , is better than the alternatives , I think ?

I am working on a wood model of my '29 Model A pickup in 1/4 scale , it is almost complete and I am very happy with it . I am going to post a screenie as soon as I can figure a way to make it Trainz related , I will most likely place my 2006 CD holder on the running board , think the Mods will buy it ??
 
I'm a very satisfied 55 year old semi-retired architect. I retired after 30 years of designing buildings for the Military and now just do some consulting work a day or two a week. Before I discovered Trainz, I was an avid model railroader with what space, money and time that I had.
Now I spend most of my time either with Trainz or sitting on my houseboat watching the ducks swim by. I think I'm going to get me a laptop and try Trainz on it and then I can sit on my boat and play Trainz. The best of both worlds. I'm married to a wonderful woman who's big into The Sims and Guild Wars. She's retired too. We have 3 grown daughters and one grandson who's the light of our every day. It's great to be alive.

Yep, that's pretty much it.
To pay for this luxurious Trainz-filled lifestyle I work in a printshop. My daily driver is identical to Bendorsey's except for being yellow, single cylinder and 385cc, rather than 7 liter. See the pic in the faces thread.
Mine gets better gas milage, but it's not as fast. Everything's a trade-off.
I used to be a bitter old man, but I got too tired, so now I'm smugly self-superior. It's less work.
I also practice tai-chi, but I'm getting into Bagua zhang.

My Life:

Well lets see here, we will do it by activities::p

High School (Sophmore): This is from September 3, 2008 to June 21, 2009 (or so, depends on what Regents Exams I have to take).

XCC (Varsity Cross Country): This is from 3:15 PM to 5:00 PM everyday after school with Meets (compitions) every Tuesday and Saturday. Ends by November.

Symphonic Band: This is usually during school but due to having a Computer Graphics class I have to do it with the teacher privately but still get the credit for it.

Jazz Band: This is from 6:30PM to 7:30 PM every Wednesday starting in November. Ends around June.

Marching Band: This is 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, every Tuesday and Thursday starting in Janurary/Feburary and ending by the time school starts.

RAGS (Radio Amatures Of Greater Syracuse): As an active member I help out with races and other public and private events for communications. There is a meeting every third Thursday of the month during the year.

Now, combine that with: school work, friends (the little I have), family time, and trying to keep up good health and you can see I am busy. I havent been on a computer in nearly a week! :eek: That is unusual for me.

Thats my life in a nut shell.

EDIT: To put this in perspective, I am 15 years old now, my birthday is on Feburary 16th, I will be 16 by 2009 and coming with that is: DRIVERS PERMIT!!:) :cool: Everyone, off the road.:o

Fun game guild wars is....

I'm 19 (20 by the end of september) and work at the Emergency room at my local hospital. I am taking some classes at the Community College hoping to become an Architect & Set Designer for movies (and plays); however my primary focus right now is planning for my trip to Europe. which will deffinately take alot more planning then what i've done. I always thought I'd like to work for Disney and help design some of their fantasy worlds, but as time goes by, priorities change. Best of luck to you.
 
I'm 27 and at the moment training as a Quantity Surveyor while working a full time job and raising a 4 month old son :) I spend my spare time sleeping and trying to shift a 3 foot high pile of paper from one side of my desk to the other :hehe: If I manage to get the pile of paper lower than 1 foot then I'm allowed out of my cage to play Trainz for a bit.

Im 14, soon to be 15(but everyone mistakes me for 17, or 18..)
I am soon to be a 9th Grade Freshman in school. Then, i have Basketball later on in the year, and maybe Baseball again.. I'll see how that plays out.
After school, i love to hang out with my friends, and i find that Anything that has a motor, and goes fast, i am very much into.. I am slowly learning to ride Motorcycle on a big 83' Yamaha Enduro 550 on/off road bike. Guitars, and Classic Rock is also a passion of mine. Like many have mentioned before, i have a small 4x8, with a 4x6 extention to for a sideways "L", and i hope for it to become a small representation of the Bath & Hammondsport, but, with an Unfinished basement, i dont want that risk quite yet.

Hi I'm Cameron. I'm 14 and I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Other than chilling out and playing Trainz or MSTS, I play guitar, hang out with friends, railfanning CP Rail's North Toronto Sub, and go to my school the Dragon Academy.
When I'm not at home I'm at the cottage. Swimming, boating, and train watching at CP Rail's Mactier yard (you can check out my thread about Mactier: http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=29956&highlight=Mactier).

I love my life. Thanks for letting me share it!

My Boss Hoss is 8.2 liter (8,224 cc's), not 7, lol. Other is a 350 chevy at around 5.7 liters. Gas milage? whats that?

Forgot to say both my wife and I play the piano and I was in the band from Jr High School (7th) grade thru collage and even in a USCG band for a while (beat going thru normal bootcamp). I was issued a sousaphone instead of an M1 rifle.

My actual name is JB......I am almost 17, read alot of books,mostly stephen King. I drive alot of cars...hoping my uncle gives me a aston martin, he rebuilds them.
I actually play in a band in a local bar, pay is decent. I get called a young Bruce springsteen. I play a lot of Bruce's music. other then that, railfan teh EBT, THE Horseshoe curve in altoona PA, and play hockey for fun(can you believe i am still single and no girl wants to be around me)
