Whats happend to my bookmarks? (firefox)

Not totally sure if this is the right place to post this but here goes.

I had many custom trainz sites bookmarked in firefox, after a recent update they've all gone. Anyone have any idea where or under which file they are in so I can find them in Windows Explorer? Looked in firefox folder, not there.

I think after many updates that companies give out, that it can reset folders or create new ones, not saving the users old bookmarks. I think this is the case for your browser. I'm not sure of this...but it's a little kind of an educated guess. Hope this helps,

Been right through the site and your helpfull suggestions but nothing has helped, not a clue what has happend, can't even add new bookmarks and just looks like no bookmarks have ever been saved, any ideas?

You might want to have a look at Xmarks by firefox. They save your bookmarks off site. You can also have them synchronized to another computer and you can also access them from any computer, with a password of course. You would'nt lose them this way if you had to rebuild your rig.

Have you tried looking here:
C:\Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\(profilename, possibly something like default.m3n)\bookmarkbackups

You said after a recent update. What kind of update did you do?

i forget how, but google 'lost my firefox bookmarks' or something. it's about a file that got messed up and when you delete it it'll use the last bookmarks database, one which is still there in the folder after all.
