What timber do they use in sleepers in NSW?

Hi everyone,
I'm currently building a route based in north eastern NSW and one of it's industries is the production of timber sleepers.

It's called a 'Boradze' depot, there's one here in my hometown, Taree. The only other Boradze depot in NSW is located in Dubbo. The sleepers arrive in rough from the sawmill, and are 'bored', 'adzed' and treated to form perfect, new railway sleepers.

Now, my question, as stated in the heading. What timber do they use in the sleepers in NSW? I'm asking because I'm not sure what trees to put in the plantation at the logging area.

I'd imagine some type of hardwood, but from what tree?
Thanks in advance,
Mitch

Thanks for the info.:) I've decided to use Mountain Ash for the plantation. Would this suffice?
Thanks,
Mitch

Just make sure that ARTC are NOT the ones to install concrete sleepers when times comes to get rid of the wooden sleepers on your layout!

Hahahaha, true!:hehe: I'm doing an old NSWGR branch, so it should be all closed by the time the ARTC wants to do that...
Thanks,
Mitch
