What if NJT had managed to buy AEM-7s?

So, I've always had the thought. Since NJT developed the ALP-44 because they were too late to the AEM-7 bandwagon, I always wondered what might've changed for my home state's commuter rail if they had actually managed to get them when EMD was still making them. It's just a thought I've had, but I wonder what would've changed equipment-wise. Considering as MARC and SEPTA ran theirs until the 2010s, NJT might've as well. Imagine how strange or cursed it would've been to see a refurbished NJT AEM-7 hustling a set of multilevels to somewhere like Long Branch, or Trenton, maybe Dover or MSU, or right through into Newark & New York Penn.
