What happened to Turbo Trainz - Wii???

In an interview with Paul Olsen - Studio Head at N3V Games (17/02/2011) it was stated that "Internally we are developing Turbo Trainz for the Wii, which is set to release Q2, 2011 worldwide" So what has happened? My son 8yo has "my first train set" and loves it, turbo trainz is on the TV in the lounge room setting and he always asks "when will we be able to get it" I suppose I should give him the standard trainz response to this and say "don't be a gimmy pig, just wait until the creator (N3V) is ready to let you have it."
This does not give a very good impression to young up and coming trainzers.
It will be interesting to see if anyone from N3V is willing to shed some light on this or is it vaporware?

Perhaps the same fate as Trainz for Xbox???

We evaluated this a long time ago (back in the early XBOX days) and decided against it. I'm not entirely sure of the final reasoning, but the two obvious ones that spring to mind now are:

* The XBOX didn't have much RAM. The 360 is better in this regard, although still very limited compared to a PC. The result is that we could probably do some very nice looking content, but not much of it at once.

* It would be an expensive task. For a small company like N3V, we'd come close to betting the farm on the success of a console version. If the console version wasn't successful, or if the success of the console version came at the expense of the PC version, the company might fail.

kind regards,

chris

This may, or may not, be the answer.

I believe the standard trainz response is "soon"....:p When they announced a Trainz version for the Mac, it seemed that it turned into vaporware....but it did eventually come to pass. Anyone who has been here for a while has learned not to put much stock on Q-this or Q-that for release dates. They appear when they're done....or not...

At least its finaly out on the auran shop. It will probably be in the united states stores soon.
