Sweet! I live in Mason on the Indiana & Ohio line. My 2 favorite places in the area are Glendale in the parking lot across from the old station on the CSX, and Hamilton where CSX and NS come together. Cool thing about Glendale is the parking lot is like 200 feet from some old B&O era signals! (And yes, they still operate!) Cool to see a native around here! :p You have any reccomendations for me? You can never have enough railfanning spots!

Cool man, nice to see someone in my area around here. Glendale is a really good spot, I often go to the station and watch trains from the platform which puts you within 3 feet of the actual train. There is a fence there ofcourse.

Another good spot is the dirt road off of Clifton ave in Winton Place, just south of Krogers and Blockbuster on Mitchell ave. It is the same spot where "Sunrise to Sunset" filmed at.:D

Also check out Tower A in Union Terminal, which is open to the public.

Caught the pride in 100 trains a day. In Glasgow the Central Station alone handles 600 passenger trains a day and 5 minutes walk away is Queen Street Station which although unsure of the number of passenger trains will well run into 3 figures with it's smaller offering of 8 passenger platforms!

I've railfanned at Winton Place before. Action was steady but slow speeds kinda put a damper on the fun. I was also scared for my life. Not a good neighbor hood... :D

Every once in a while, a train will come in at about 30 or 40 MPH, but most trains going out of Queensgate are either stopped at Winton Place, or are throttling up thru Winton Place.Action is very constant, and no, Winton Place is not the most pleasant neighborhood in the city.
