Weird colors: Missing Textures?

I'm finding a lot of assets that have weird colors (see picture).
My first guess was that there are textures missing, although there are no errors or warnings shown. Now I'm wondering if the color palette is misaligned, or if the color control parameters are corrupted and pointing to random bits of memory.
Today, an entire batch of newly downloaded people had this problem, although it's not the first time it's happened. I've also seen it on bridges and freight cars that were OK the first time I looked at them. Usually, it's the whole asset that looks like it, although sometimes it's only a small part that has the weird colors.
Although I can always work around the problem by not using the affected assets, my worst fears are that the problem will later appear on something that is already irretrievably built in to my route.
Does anyone know how I can fix it?

*frowns* that too me, looks like your video card isn't processing the textures properly - I'd switch from Open-GL too Direct X mode, or vice versa...purely as an experiment. I suspect, and I may be wrong, that the video card is overheating and hence, scaling itself back, causing the 'odd' textures.

Many of us have seen this, especially after upgrading video cards. Shane's tutorial (see above) covers the fix. Don't forget Step #6. Also, sometimes opening and re-committing an asset doesn't quite fix it. In that case deleting it and re-downloading it is required.

Thanks for the tutorial link. That worked fine.
One thing I did notice is that in some cases, I had to exit and restart Trainz before the update would take effect.
... and yes, I have recently upgraded my video card.
