we will not sale products by we are!!!

Just reading though the Q&A on the Trainz Life-Cycle policy.
http://online.ts2009.com/mediaWiki/index.php5/Trainz_Life-Cycle_Policy

in it it says & I quote "Q: I recently bought a copy of an unsupported product. Will you give support? A: No. We will not sell products which are nearing the end-of-support date. It may be possible to purchase such a product from a third party through a bargain-bin outlet or similar, however we can not offer support for these products. We expect that the product will continue to operate as normal, and hope that you enjoy your experience with the product will be sufficiently enjoyable that you'll decide to upgrade to one of our supported products."

Yet go to the main Auran shop and low and behold you can by products which are nearing the end-of-support.

Does anyone know why????

Auran are going to remove these products or just leave them untill you've sold you stock?

If it's latter do you not think you should update the Trainz Life-Cycle Policy?

Also as your ending support for these for products do you not think you should inform people about this on the info page so someone knows before they buy?

It does not look good me.

Cheers Rusty

Hi aardvark1

Thanks for link I did a search but nothing came up.

But the fact still remains that they are selling them under misinterpretation!!!

Now if I was new to Trainz and I brought one of the products I would expect full support for at least 1yr.

As they are not going to be offering that in any way shape or form they should add a line on the details page (that can be clearly seen) informing the buyer that the products comes with no support at all....

But this goes to show yet again that all Auran want is peoples hard earned money....

I would not dream of selling an item with-out any support, would that really get me repeat custom???

What is this?

I hesitate to guess what it could mean on a family forum.

Peter

Narrowgauge Its a typo it should of read misinterpretation but hey we can all make mistakes you did it with my name and that was on your screen....

But theres no point jumping on the band wagon over a typo which to any one with any common sence could of worked out what it was ment to say.

Rusty

nah, misinterpertation is a typo, miss interpenetration is a window into your soul, and the window is kinda dirty :p :p

Boy is this thread treading very close to the edge of the CoC :hehe:

And I second the nomination for Sniper :D

Cheers David

Enough of the misguided complaints about support (read DLS) stopping, they are not as you put it,

The description of 06 quoted from the Auran Shop site,

Note the reference to the DLS.

Now the discription for 04,
Trainz Railroad Simulator 2004
TRS 2004 set a new standard in virtual railroading experience. David, not nuff said as you put it...

I have not brought up the DLS so this would suggest you have not fully read my post to start with....

The "descriptions" mean jack all to the point I am making.

My gripe here which you are missing is the fact Auran say in there life-cycle policy they will not sale these items yet they are and they are not warning the buyer!!!

Why in the hope when the buyer finds out he can't get support he or she will buy the new version?

Now I hope you can understand that or do you need me to put it more plainly for you to understand?

Rusty.

Just to prove that I did indeed read your post, as yet they have not pulled support for the stated versions so they have not pulled them from sale, so you, for now, are making much ado about nothing.

What software company gives support for seven year old (04 came out in q3 03) program at no cost to the purchaser.
Why the fuss about a game that costs the same as a mug of coffee, its only au$4.95, lets see that would pay for about 5 mins support leaving Auran with no profit at all, and remember no profit, no Trainz, and 06 is only au$14.95, these are bargain bin prices and as such should be treated like any other bargain bin item, cheap, nasty and thrown away very quickly.

Now it is definitely nuff said

David, go and read my post again you still fail to see the point and understand what what I am saying.

So No again not nuff said!!

I'm make it as plain as I can for you.....

Auran say "We will not sell products which are nearing the end-of-support date" And they are.... The support ends on Wednesday 1st of September.

So at what date will the products be removed because to me nearing the end-of-support should be at least 1 month!!
Now if they want to sale the stock they have they should at least add a clear statement saying the producut will not be supported after such a date!!!

Oh and your stuiped comment about its only the price of a coffee (what coffee do you drink) I could buy 2 jars for that, and with every-one having to tighten thier belts why should they waste money???

Now do you understand what I'm saying?

If not go away and don't bother replying with a load of codswopple which clearly shows you have not read my post!!!!

Rusty

Hi David and Peter narrow guage.
l fell that now you are both getting personal to Rusty.
Firstly Peter, started what seems to me as a personal attack on Rusty as to his spellings of certain words. which is not, in my opinion a great way to go on a so called family forum, but l do appreciate some of the other wise cracks that other members made and am pleased with the comments in the way that the contributors made them for us older ppl, to understand without offending kids. l hope that l aint made a spelling mistake in this bit, Peter, so you wont be offended, in other words don't criticies others who can make mistakes, because l noticed that you couldn't even spell Russell's name correctly which to me is the biggest insult that you can give to anyone, seeing as the correct spelling was in front of you.
So now to you David, on reading all the bits that you have written, and others, l feel that Rusty's comments are perfectly correct, in as much that, yes auran are still advertising products that they will not be supporting after the end of this month, which to me is a total con and l will be contacting my local trading standards department, tomorrow to find out if this is legal in the UK.
Surely auran should by law state on the advertisement for the product, that they wont be supporting that product from a set date.
Also if you properly read the Trainz life cycle policy they will not sell products nearing the end of their suport.
As they are pulling the plug on the support for these products, they should state this and the comments have nothing to do with the DLS, which they say that if anyone purchases a FTC ticket they can stiill be able to download for that product, that is again another way of ripping ppl off, dont you agree?

lesleyphillips49

It was not a personal attack, I did not refer to the several spelling errors in his post, I only asked what he meant. It could have been 'misinterpretation' or it could have been 'misrepresentation' If he was offended by the comment at the end, then he would have hated the later ones.

There is no excuse for spelling errors, posts can be edited, I re-edit mine quite frequently.

Finally, if you want your post to carry some weight, you check and double check that spelling errors do not detract from what you want to say.

Peter

PS I have done what I sugggested, his name has been corrected.

No.

All this fuss over a au$4.95 product and even 06 is only au$14.95,
Just what do you want for the price of a mug of coffee.

Why can't people just accept the fact that trainz is moving on and not bother with empty threats to sue Auran over a seven year old version of trainz.

bye bye

Cheers David
