Merging

Hello to our Premier Lady route creator....:mop:

Which area does this cover please Angela, can we merge it with your 1st version that stopped just passed Reading Station ??

Cheerz. ex.

Hello ex,
The second version now up on the DS will merge with the first but there is a hight difference where the tracks lie, but it seems nowhere else!
As this section is larger than the first I decided to chop it in halves and while I was at it redo the scenery and set the tracks correctly.
The second part of section 2 has no work done at all, so I was about halfway through when I gave up.
But it will be a while before this goes up and then I will ask Auran nicely if they will remove the ''WCL2 Part Done'' asset that now resides on the DS.
This part runs from just after Theale to North Brewham.

Bless you ex,

Angela

Light locos

One question, why are the locos always 'light engine'?

Ha ha... it's me being lazy I am afraid. The main thing was to show it does work, you can see exhaust....
I am not one for running a route in Trainz, frankly it bores me to bits. My forte is making the scene for you to run in, and I hope I do manage to achieve this. I think the amount of downloads bears that out, over 3000 for WCL1 and the K&ESR.

Blessings,

Angela

Correct

Angela, so i just downloaded both sections, but part 2 will be obsolete in the future.

Is that correct, please.

Was going to have a go at merging them and attempting to do some work on the part finished bits. ;)

cheers,
Mike.

Hello Mike,
Yes, that's about the sum of it. But don't fret, have a go anyway, you have nothing to lose and may well have a load of fun.
In any case it will take me some time to finish even the first chopped bit so if you want to run the full length then merge the ones that are presently on the DS.
What I suggest is where the height difference is (I didn't realise there was one, but there is!) lay a long length of track (or road) from the end of section One to a good way onto section Two and then hit the Smooth Tool. That will sort out the gradient.
But try to keep Section One as a stand-alone file as well for the future when I finish the work I am doing now, so when you do the merge again the levels will be corrected.

Remember, I have BTM and a Tabletop on the go at the same time and have just grabbed a load of GE pictures from Waterloo station out so I can redo my Elevated route.

We had a water loo in our garden!! Ha ha....

Blessings,

Angela

My Pleasure

Hiya Angela,

many thanks for your help and advice. I will certainly have a go, but i am not much of a route builder. ;)

I will also do as you suggested and keep a stand alone copy of WCL1, for future use.

Thanks very much Angela.

regards,
Mike.

Hello Mike,
It is my pleasure, as always, to help wherever I can.
In between all this Trainz work I am considering rebuilding a Hobby Engine Abrams in 1:16 scale, a big model. Am at present trying to work out about the electronics for the radio gear and the sound, which in the Abram's case is a helicopter gas turbine engine.
Also in between I do Tarot, meditate and attend my spiritualist church...
It keeps me busy.... ha ha...

Bless you,

Angela

Eyes

Hi again Angela,

i have noticed that you do as much as you can in assisting with problems and queries.

You certainly lead a very busy life. :)

Did you have any luck with your eye problems, in regards to treatment ?

What i forgot to ask you earlier, is do any of the boards need to be deleted on WCL2, to merge with the first section ?

It`s an excellent route, which i know like the back of my hand during the period 1965 - 1988 ( i lived in Langley Berks for 23 yrs ).

Thanks very much for your hard work in creating these two parts.

I will try not to mess it up to much. :D

regards,
Mike.

Hello again Mike,
The old peepers... I am under the hospital with them now (not literally, I'd be squashed flat!) and put Cosopt drops in twice a day which seems to be keeping the problem stable much of the time. Thanks for asking.

Yes, there are some boards that need removing. With the second section, get it horizontal, run to the start end and take out the tow 2 layers of boards. That should allow a perfect match as the first part slides across the top of the second during the merge.
What I did was to try merging as they were and that soon showed me exactly where and what to take off, just a safety net approach.

I am off to Bristol today (on the PC, ha ha) to locate the signalling posts and gantries on the western side of Temple Meads. Must try to do a bit more to that, much to be completed yet....

Blessings,

Angela

Hello again Angela,

I'll have to get my atlas out as I cannot remember where North Brewham is now, it's ages since I've been down to sunny Berkshire.....;)
Part 2 was only part-finished from memory, because of your eyesight problems, so I didn't merge it with Part 1, someday I'll add everything together as it was always a great train-ride from Paddington down to the West Country and it would be great to do the full run again in Trainz, I wonder if someone could do Bristol to Penzance, now, that would be the cherry on top of the cake......:hehe:

Look after yourself and keep creating for your many fans worldwide....

Hello 'ex',
As you may know - or maybe not.... I am working on BTM myself. I have the station done and tracks out west to the first big road junction that covers the tracks where there is a portal or 2. Can't remember where that is now... but a fair way.
I have run the docks line off but that too will end up in a portal. East of the station I had problems, basically created it too long so am having the shorten the whole route, which takes ages considering it was more or less done! Drat, drat and double drat!!
Just been putting signals on from GE shots. There don't seem to be many... but I ran it with 4 locos and it works, which is the main thing.
Plenty of more work to be done on the eastern side though and I am trying to fit WCL 2a in between together with another Tabletop.

My eye pressure is under control with the drops and hospital appointments down to every 6 months now. So I can spend longer on the PC...

I am also considering converting another large scale tank to full radio control, but it's a bit expensive... £900 or so, that'll need thinking through carefully....

Blessings upon you and tara...

Very glad your eyesight is better Angela, but, don't overdo things.....

Yes, I saw the screenies of your Bristol Temple Meads layout, it looks very good so far, I'm sure it'll be another winner with the troops.:p

Have you been watching old episodes of Dick Dastardley and Mutley, again......:hehe:

Take care.

Hello 'ex',
Terrific program that, love the dogs laugh.... ha ha, or should that be heee, heee, heee.

BTM. Plenty to do on that yet. Had 4 locos dashing about yesterday after setting up the signalling to as near proto as possible from GE and PP shots. A couple of hiccups, point levers missing and a buffer in the middle of the tracks - knocked a loco right off! Lord knows how it got there!! But runs fine otherwise.

Bless you,

Angela

Dear 'ex',
Bristol, yes... my problem is mainly the actual station. There is a version on the DS but it's for 06, not 04.
I got in touch with the creator but they never replied.... maybe they think 04 is 'old hat' - maybe they think I am old hat, I suppose they're right there... ...ha ha.
So I have done what I can wit the AJS assets. It's not right but there's nothing else even close that I can use.
You'll get the feel of it, the flavour if you like. You know me, I like things right and the station is bugging me a bit.
Did more work on it yesterday shortening the coal sidings side, that's the southern side of the tracks east of the station. Plenty to do there yet, got that area well and truly wrong!
Trying to read parts of the Kabbalah in between...

Bless you,

Angela
