Vulcans US Sailors Mesh Library LOD

Was looking for period sailor assets for my current layout build, when I came across Vulcans <kuid2:60238:60076:1> Figure US Sailors Mesh Library LOD.

Uploaded in April of this year, got all excited, then saw that he had no actual sailors available to plop? :confused:


Did Vulcan forget to upload them, or is there some other issue?

Normally a mesh library is a source of meshes and/or textures for the assets themselves. It is not the actual displayable assets. There should/must be other assets on the DLS that rely on the mesh library that contain the necessary config.txt files and other components for placing in a layout. Look for other assets by Vulcan with US Sailor in their names.

EDIT: Just did a search and came up empty. maybe they got "lost at sea"?

It would be very easy to make your own assets that reference the mesh library to create some standalone figures for placing on layouts.

Yes, it would. I was going through all of the library meshes. Would be easy peasy.

Used for <kuid2:60238:8143:1> Destroyer Fletcher Class LOD startup. Must be fixed figures that are part of the destroyer and not separate attachments?
 
Hi Rico,

As Ali mentioned I made the library for the Fletcher class destroyer, they are then called up in the config of the ship. Usually I make individual figures that can be placed in Surveyor but I think I got side tracked and forgot to do that.

The individual sailor figures for placing in Surveyor have been uploaded and approved. There were a few minor touch ups required for the texture mapping so there is a new version 2 of the library. 26 figures in the library, different colour uniforms, some doing maintenance, some gun loaders, 2 senior officers, typical recent US navy uniforms. Give them the usual 24 hours.
