Video card brands

Slave to my route
Good news I got my desktop going again, but it is time for a video card upgrade. I'm going with a gforce 970, but what brand is best for TANE?

Congrats on your new system!

I have had good luck with EVGA and you can get them either directly from www.evga.com, or from www.newegg.com

They are a nice product and warranty with the cards, and EVGA is based right here in the US and has a real tech support staff. :) I only had to send in a card once, and old GTX270 and it was under warranty. Since my card was old, but under warranty, they upgraded to the then new GTX480. That was a nice upgrade at the time about 8 years ago now.

EVGA is good, ASUS, just about any brand in the GTX 970 and 980 series is pretty good. I suggest one with Active Cooling 2.0, runs very quiet and cooler. Doesn't become a heater!

MSI's Twin Frozr cooling system really helps to keep the temperatures down, but that's about all I've had experience with. I've heard ASUS's DCU II cooling system is also a great choice. One of my friends bought an EVGA GTX, I believe 660 or 760, with blower fans, and he had issues with temperatures while overclocking until he upgraded to a Twin Frozr card. I've also heard one too many negative review about Powercolor cards, so I'd stick with MSI, ASUS, or Gigabyte.

Thanks for the help all. I'm presently in negotiations with Mrs. T1O to place an order with Newegg. I'll look at the EVGA, Asus, and MSI.

Again thanks and Merry Christmas!

Check the size of the card so that it will fit your case and that the power cables match. I got a EVGA GTX 960 FTW a week ago and is my 3rd EVGA card.
