Very low poly loco

Hello

Does anyone know of a particularly low poly loco (or even an invisible one) that I could use purely to trigger events in a non-scenic area of my route. (I can’t find a way of sorting the download station by poly count).

My plan is to use sforget’s Central Portal Control to emit a loco at regular intervals; these locos will then run over a series of triggers that will start other locos running on a timetable schedule. If it all works will post the details here.

I probably could use any loco for this but I does not seem necessary to have a fully detail model sitting in an out of the way place using up system resources. As an alternative I suppose I could work through the “simple loco in Gmax” tutorial and use a moving box as a trigger mechanism.

Thanks

Do you have to use a loco? How about a wagon of some kind that would have far fewer polys than a locomotive.

At the end of your Railyard list, you should see some toy wooden rolling stock. Use the Wood Locomotive.

Thanks for the ideas.

I will give the wood loco a try, or make small box in GMax and attach it to an invivible bogie. I did think of making a small shed but an actual statue is an interesting alternative.

Chris,

Have a look at - Invisible Junction control Car, Kuid 200726:10098 by

There's something like 'cable loco' by cyberstorm, and I think something else called inviscab (IIRC).

Slugsmasher's invisiCAB (kuid:86661:15710) is on the DLS. It is an invisible loco with an interior that gives a view of the track ahead. As well as perhaps fitting your need, I also find it useful for exploring new routes, as by adding extra cabviews to the interior config I can look around as I explore.
