Vermont?

Hi;
Anyone know where I can find Vermont locos, rolling stock, etc?
Vermont Railway, Central Vermont, New England Central, Guliford, etc
I'm looking for diesels mostly.

There are a couple Vermont GP9's on DLS, but they are broken and I cannot fix.

Thanks

Look on the DLS under TRS2004 for Guilford (GTI) and Boston & Maine (B&M). There is also I think a Vermont Railways GP-9 up there as well along with a Providence of Worcester, Housatonic, BAR, and Central Mass.

What kind of problems with the GP9s? I was able to fix the broken ones I had.

Try looking on the DLS first before asking in here. I found 3 New England Central, 24 Guilford and 4 Central vermont locos. Don't use CMP as it never has everything. Use the website and check all the boxes.

I guess I was limiting myself by using "Vermont" in the title.
I have been using the "black pages", not DLS.

Thanks

The file "main texture.tga" is missing.
It is called for in the "main texture.texture.txt" file.
I tried to create the file as an empty .tga, but that only caused more problems.

What version of TS are you running? Perhaps this is specifically a TS2010 issue?

The asset I am trying to work with is: kuid:138423:20039
Central Vermont GP9
I have tried everything, and cannot fix it.

It might be a TS2010 issue. I just downloaded it in to TS2009 and got the same error:

Error: Unable to load primary texture 'cv_gp9_body/main texture.tga' for texture file 'cv_gp9_body/main texture.texture.txt'.

I changed the main line in the "main texture.texture.txt" file to refer to "sidewindowopacity.bmp" instead of "Main Texture.tga" (which is missing as you mentioned). After the changes it opened up in Railyard okay. Then I tried it in Driver mode and it worked okay to.

Added info:
In TS2009 I do have a yellow exclamation point next to the locomotive title in the DLS window:

Warning: Progressive meshes are no longer supported by Trainz. Though these meshes may work in Trainz, it is recommended that you switch to a LOD mesh.

Don't know if TS2010 still shows the same warnings as TS2009.

I just deleted the main texture.txt file and it worked OK.
I thought I had tried that before, but I think it was after opening for edit in CC, and that screwed everything up.

I am ignoring the warnings about .pm files. TS2010_SP2 still reads them.

All of my GP9s work since I don't have the main.tga or the corresponding main.texture.txt. I must've deleted the files to make them work.

If you want to get rid of the warning about the progressive meshes, you need to convert them to IM files with PEVS PM2IM. When that's done, you need to make changes in the config file.

mesh-table
{
default
{
mesh "x_body/x_body.im" <<--- susbstitute x for your asset name
auto-create 1
}
shadow
{
mesh "x.im" <<---- Same as above, and may need to add in path for shadow.
}
}

Many thanks to Ian Woodward for this config file add-on.

Well I know no one has posted on this thread in a while and hopefully im not reviving a dead topic :o (sorry if I am) but I would like to say I know where some Vermont locos are. There are 2 red 2 green green mountain railway locos at RRmods. At USLW there's a CN 2-8-2 mikado that could be reskined with the authors permission but other than that I dont know of many others.
sincerly, MTW :wave:
PS: locos are awesome !

What does CMP stand for. Does it have more locomotives.
