There have been several versions of Trainz since UTC, which is quite old. You'll like the later versions a lot better than UTC.
Look for Trainz on Amazon.

No UTC is not compatible with TRS 2009 but Trainz 2009 is compatible with UTC.

if u have TRS 2009 when it starts up click content and it will open Content Manager V2 or (CM2) for short which handles all the content. U install all conent through thier. Search on the forums there should be lots of topics about how to use this.

Writing from memory, all the built-in content in UTC is also in TS2009 so there is no point in installing UTC.
