As most of you may have learned, Jointed Rail has purchased United States Locomotive Works and the user-driven TrainzForums.com. For a brief moment, confusion was brought up and fears that USLW would be shut down arose. This was far from the reality.
After countless hours of diligent work, the members of USLW and Jointed Rail have brought together a beautiful new website aimed at providing an even more pleasing experience for the user, showcasing excellent work made by the team.
As the changes are being finalized, existing content is being added to the website rapidly. Members can expect all of the existing content to be up within the next few days.
Users will not be expected to pay for any of USLW's content. However, users must register with the new website to access downloads. Registration is completely free, and is different from your Jointed Rail and TrainzForums.com accounts.
A brief history: USLW started in 2007 as a result of a merger of two superpower Trainz sites; Trainz Locomotive Works and United States Trainz (TLW and UST, respectively.) Members from both sites were eager to begin working together as, at the time, one of the largest Trainz organization besides Auran® itself. Although some big names in Trainz development jumped ship, both teams remained largely intact and began creating some fascinating projects.
We are very excited to start this new chapter in USLW. Trainz enthusiasts can expect innumerable amounts of new content in the near future. We appreciate all the support, and we'd love to hear your comments!
