Served on two missions in this area plus visited a relative nearby, this is one huge location. With the heat factor, this would be badly needed. I wonder if they would send one of the existing or get a new GP38. Don't know if any of their locomotives are designed to work in the heat.

Like an oven.

There will be many complaints of a Train Line to Nowhere, but it sounds like a good way to save money and fuel in the long run. Existing diesel engines should be fine at those temperatures.
