Upgrading from 2006 to 2010?

Okay, I'm not exactly a Luddite, but I do like to be cautious when it comes to really big, unwieldy programs. (Kind of like Windows: I'm so happy I skipped over Vista). So I waited around and just enjoyed my TRS 2006. TRS 2009 didn't seem like such a good product (maybe kind of like Vista), but it sounds like TRS 2010 is a pretty good product. So I thought about upgrading to it.

Now, I have two main joys in TRS 2006:
1. Classic American railroading, from steam through transition era.
2. Using Surveyor to make my very own worlds set in steam and transition era America.

I've amassed a gargantuan library of the wonderful content people have made for TRS 2004 and TRS 2006. I've made layouts using them, like a massive Chili Line (Santa Fe to Espanola) project. I have got TRS 2006 to work on my new computer. And I'm happy enough.

So given what I've just said, is there a reason to think that I would like TRS 2010?

Would I lose all my content? The cool steam locos and FT's and switchers and cars of Fallen Flag RR's and narrow gauge/dual gauge stuff and the old industries, buildings, etc.? Would I lose the layouts I created? Would I lose all the other cool classic American layouts that come standard on TRS 2006?

Many thanks in advance!

They should all work in TRS2010 (compatibility mode). A few may require some repairs. If you need some assistance, post here or in the TRS2010 forum.

Visually a leap forward. I went from 06-2010 and was well chuffed. Your routes should be fine, locos and wagons will more than likely need to be amended to suit 2010 cm's more stringent error checking.
You will need PEV's tools to assist in alterations.
If you do get 2010 patch to build 44088 only. You will have compatibility mode for older content and no multi player.

Fran, you said my routes should be fine. What about the routes that come with TRS2006? Will I still have them?
