upgraded to win 10 and trainz 12 wants DX9

Hi All,
just installed win 10 and now I cant install my patches or access my content as it wants DX9 and not DX12 and the computer wont accept DX9????.So how can I get round this?.Any help would be appreciated.

Hi stumpywings, this is not uncommon. Take a look at this thread http://forums.auran.com/trainz/show...-and-missing-directX9-file&highlight=directx9 . Despite having DX12 installed you will still need to install DX9

Do you have Steam?

Go here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam Games\steamapps\common\(one of your games)\_CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010

Outside of that go to Microsoft Downloads and look for the DX9 Redistributable.

Just to add, that installing DX9 and switching to DirectX in the Options screens made all the difference on my system here, now very smooth and quick to respond. Shane's tool doesn't work on Win10AE here - MSFT tries to install some dot net versions but fails. The Redist method described here - http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?58843-Updating-DirectX-9-0c-how-to-do-it - works though. This is on TRS2010; too many good routes and sessions saved to give it up for a more recent version!
