Updated QR Speedboards

[QR_Freighter]

Hi All.

I've had a request from a Trainz Classics user for my QR Speedboards, which I released to Auran when beta-testing the original version of Trainz. They were included in UTC, TRS2004 & TRS2006, but are unavailable for download. I've rebuilt these assets for TRS2004/TRS2006+ from my original files, ready for upload to the Download Station. The following images show the speed combinations available for Left & Right hand placement...

They are "KUID2:" format and will obsolete the original default assets for users of TRS2004/2006.
I'm willing to create a few other valid speed combinations to include in the pack if anyone requests them, so feel free to ask.
I'll hold off uploading this pack until Thursday 18th Sept 2008 pending any requests.

While on the subject of speedboards, does anyone know if it's possible to have a QR speedboard just for the diverging route (e.g. 25R only - no through track speed)?

Hi QR_Freighter.

Thanks for the offer to create some more signs as I have wanted some for quite awile.Tried to see if I could edit yours once but as it was a [built in] item no luck.I would also like a 25 diverging only sign as Ryan has asked about.

Here are the ones I need for my CQ route to be acurate.These are the ones used from the northern main line out to blackwater.

25> left & right
100 50> left & right
60 50> left & right
90 50> left & right
100 25> left & right
90 25> left & right
<50> left & right
100 80> left & right
60 40> left & right
60 25> left & right

One other one I would really like is the [ APPROACH WARNING BEACON] used for the coal trains up here.Its a blue and white striped triangle sign used before the distant signals.It has 4 blue stripes and three white stripes horizontaly across .

QR Freither, you're a legend mate - absolute legend - I've been after 'updated' QR speed boards for ages. My only request, is it possible, to have them 'height adjustable', or some 'dwarf' versions, that sit about 2' above the trackside? (used often in places of limited clearance, between adjacent tracks, where a full sized board wouldn't safely fit). Also, if I may, I'd like to add a 8km/h board (both left and right hand side), for use on the virtual representation of the balloon loop at Mayne).

Hi Shane & Ryan.

The Turnout-only board is no problem, but just as a "trackside" asset and not a "mospeedboard" asset.
Turnout speeds are not possible without scripting.
Shane, I already have some of the boards you've listed so not too much extra work there. Also just to confirm - all your requested boards are right-turnout only except for the 50L/R turnout-only, and you want all of them for Left & Right side placement ?
Also, with the 50 L/R turnout have you seen it ? Is it one 50 board with left/Right arrows or two 50 boards with one pointing each way ?
Edit: I'll look at doing the approach warning beacon.

Hi Muliebuck,
I've been called lots of things but not "Comtrain". :hehe:
I don't think trackside items can be height adjustable, but I'll check.
I've seen a few "dwarf" boards nearly buried in the ballast, but it'd take a while to duplicate all of them. I'm happy to do all the standard single board values in "dwarf" versions, but turnouts would have to be by request.
I'll do the standard height 8kph (left and right turnout) and the standard height 30K/25 (left & right turnout).

I've built the whole of Brisbane so the diverging speedboards will be very handy. I may be pushing the goodwill gesture a bit but as it's a huge map, I'd need the lot - 15, 20, 25, 40, 50, 80 L, R & LR. But anything would be a great start, I'm sure we'd all agree. Keep up the good work, much appreciated.

Hi QR_Freighter.

All the boards would be for left or right merge and for left or right side of track placement.I have an exact placement of all the signs etc along the route from QR for the UP and the DOWN lines,so I just did a quick scan of the signs not taking into acount which way the merge was just to see what diferent signs were there againts the links you had at the start of this thread.I didn't see any of the signs I listed pictured in the links.As for the <50> sign I have seen it and it is just one 50 sign with the < > each side of it.I'm only looking for "trackside"asset not scripted.
Sorry took so long to reply,trying to word it right and now you beat me with an edit about the beacon sign.
Edit :Just reread previous posts and noticed you might have been refering to Ryan's sign list that you already have done.

Hi Ryan. I'll do single turnout speeds of 25, 40, 50, 80 for starters, as these are common.

Shane... I'll do the <50> with a single board. Are we talking about this board ?

It's an equilateral triangle with 915mm sides. I'll do them at 2.5 metres high if that suits.

Oooo - odd, I've always seen them as 'approach beacons', (vis, inverted triangle, with the point facing downwards), but I'm more than willing to admit when I'm wrong

My apologies if this wasn't directed at me, but I think you're thinking of an "Approach Beacon" which essentially replaces the Approach Signal....

I can't find piccies, but there's a couple of them on the down-main between Northgate and Eagle Junction. I can't think of any others between Brisbane and Rocky.

I've completed the additional speedboards as requested, and will be uploading them in a couple of days as soon as testing and config-checking is complete.

For "Trains4"
60k/25 turnout left & right
60k/40 turnout left & right
60k/50 turnout left & right
90k/25 turnout left & right
90k/50 turnout left & right
100k/25 turnout left & right
100k/50 turnout left & right
100k/80 turnout left & right

Also the Approach Warning Beacon for Left/Right placement.

For Muliebuck.
Full set of single Dwarf speedboards for Left & Right placement. The centre of the board is 550mm above ground and will be placed 1.75 metres from the track centre. They are suitable for the QR Narrow Gauge Rollingstock profile, and for track spacing of 3.5 metres or more.
Also the 30k/25 turnout boards.

50 turnout left, left/right & right
80 turnout left, left/right & right

The Approach Warning Beacon will be in a separate pack with the Approach Beacon.

Hi Shane. Sorry but I just found your edit (23rd Sept). I'm not sure I understand.. Do you mean 80k mainline speed with an 80k right-turnout board above - for Left-side placement? I'm happy to add it in but I better get it right!
