Can anyone tell me where I might find unknown kuids ?

I downloaded routes, loco's, scenery and such from The Download Station, content manager tells me I have missing dependencies, some are on the the download station others say unknown, is there a program, or a certain way to find these?
1) Open the item with missing dependencies in the Content Manager Plus, and select the tab "View dependencies". This will open a subsidiary window listing the dependencies.
2) In this window, at the lower left, click on the button "view in main list".
This shows the dependencies in the content manager.
3) Select the items in the dependencies list in whatever fashion you choose, one at a time, "select all", and open the download manager tab at the left. The items you've selected should appear in the window associated with that tab.
4) Download the dependencies.
Those that list as "unknown" are not on the download station. For these you will have to find the site from which they were downloaded. Google is surprisingly effective in locating these, if you're looking for it, chances are someone else has looked for it, too, and posted about it in the forums. In some cases Google will show directly the site from which the dependency can be obtained. In other cases, G~ will point to (one of) the thread(s) that were started by someone else looking for the dependency, and you can find there the site from which the dependency might be obtained. Once you know the site, you can visit it yourself (hopefully), and locate the content on the site and download it.
Now, if neither of the above procedures yield results, do not yet give up all hope. Use the first part of the KUID, that is, the part between the colon after "KUID" or "KUID2", and make note of it. Then, open the Content manager, select the "author" column, and click on the top of the column to sort it. Then, scroll in the appropriate direction to locate the author associated with that author id. Alternatively, depending upon the version of the CM you are using, "Author ID" will be a parameter in the search field. [NB: it may be a parameter in all versions of the CM since it started, and I just don't recognize it because of a name change.] Choose that filter parameter, enter the KUID number, and use that to determine who the author is. From that, you might be able to determine where the author hangs out these days, find the author, and either get the item, or get permission to get the item from some one else.
There may be some dependencies you may not be able to locate. The user may have left the community, and decided not to returh, or you may not be able to come up with contact information, even by posting a "Where is..." thread. In that case, you may be out of luck, and your only option may be to delete the dependency from the route, and replace it with something else.
