unknown asset

That was created by a user named DestinVids.

He/she has never posted any messages in the forums. Has never uploaded any assets to the DLS. The only reference to it that Google can find is your post above. None of these are good signs.

If you are really determined to get this unknown asset of unknown quality then post its details in the missing-kuids-post-them-here thread but I do not like your chances.

frenchjo17 It looks like you're having the same problem I've just had with WigWag Simulations DV intermodal wellcar enhancements. Go back onto their website into the Misc section, then download and install DVs intermodal enhancement pack from there. It's a different package and you need them both. The 'Misc' one has all the custom loads, as well as the missing kuids. You'll get a couple of 'already installed' errors and probably have to submit a lot of edits through Content Manager. It's be nice if they told you this when you went to download the main pack but, hey, it's freeware

If content is already installed, it's recommended to right-click and choose revert to original instead of blindly submitting content. The only time you'll want to submit is if the content-creator has told you to do so.

What I find helps when installing content from cdp files is open up a window in Content Manager showing Open for editing.

Any new content that's installed will appear there and anything that submits automatically will disappear. If there's anything left in the folder, these assets can then be selected and reverted.

Not necessarily. When you use a .cdp file to reinstall a pre-existing asset the newly installed version will always be shown as "Open for editing". If you revert these reinstalled assets then the new .cdp update will be removed and the previous version will be restored. To replace the preinstalled (presumably older) versions with the (presumably newer) versions from .cdp files the "Open for editing" assets must be submitted.

This does not occur when installing new assets or updates of existing assets from the DLS. The difference is that when installing from the DLS Content Manager knows and trusts the source of the assets. When installing from .cdp files the original source and authorship is not known so you have an opportunity to back-out of the update by selecting "Revert".

Correct. Assets installed with the same version from a .cdp will cause an existing asset of the same version to become Open for editing. Maybe I thought this and didn't say it.
