Unable to save in TS2010EE

Hi there
I have recently acquired TS2010EE via Steam (I know what an idiot I am and should have read the forums first ) but it runs ok for me so far with the exception of saves.
When I run the sim and then want to exit and make a save, I go through the usual routine and enter the save name (eg ecml1). I then have to wait for ages and eventually it all closes down. Upon restarting, there is nothing in the saved sessions. However, if I run the sim again and then make a save it shows the previous save as being there and if I use that name again it asks about overwriting .
Has anyone else suffered with this or have I got a version that needs the patches (that are not available for the Steam download) to work correctly or am I making a stupid error somewhere?

PS I have TS2006 and TC3 which both work ok in all respects

This is one of the bugs that was reported fixed with one of the patches you probably don't have.

Thanks for the reply.
I guessed that it would be something like that and neither Steam nor Auran/N3V seem bothered about releasing patches for this downloaded version.
My fault for buying it from Steam, but I have bought other stuff and that has been updated on a regular basis.
Oh well, you learn by your mistakes.
