"Unable to find required username tag in package".

I have received the following message from someone who has been trying to download a number of my custom assets from the DLS and has found that the extraction process failed:

" I have recently downloaded from the Trainz Download Station your platform content listed as Platform UK or Platform UK SG, all of which was listed as being suitable for use in TRS2004. I do have TRS2006 and 2009 but my computer is getting old and they do not run anywhere near as good as TRS2004 so that I use that much more frequently than the others and unfortunately as a pensioner a new computer is not top of my list at present.

Having downloaded the above mentioned content successfully I set about extracting it as I have always done in the past. Unfortunately all the content opened with the following statement:-
"Unable to find required username tag in package". I persisted in extracting all the items in order to see what would happen.

When I started Trainz and looked in the various areas for the content I found that some had extracted but most of it was missing. The spline content for the SG platforms was there, but the Left and Right Hand Slopes were not to be found anywhere. I had also downloaded all the Platforms UK only to find that again, some had extracted but some were not to be found.

I would be very grateful if you could tell me if there is a way around this or is there is a fault at the Download Station."

The gentleman is using Download Page not Download Helper whereas I have always used Download Helper so am at a loss to know what is wrong. I have checked on the DLS and the number of each item downloaded to date ranges from around 300 to well over 400, and there are 32 items in all. I would assume that had there been any error in my CDPs they would have been rejected by the DLS.

Can anyone suggest how I might help? Fortunately I have saved all the original CDPs so could send them as e-mail attachments but of course it would be better to ensure that they can be downloaded in the normal way in case anyone else has or has had the same problem. Perhaps trying via Download Helper might give a better result.

Many thanks to anyo9ne who can help.

I've got a fair few of your items Ray, & have had the "Unable to find required username tag in package" message when using FTP & extracting into 2004.
It's not only your items though, it happens with others content too, but it always extracts what it's supposed to, no problem.
If he is using FTP, the problem is that he hasn't downloaded all the bits, they have to be downloaded seperately, whereas the 'Download Helper' finds all the bits & does it for you.

Thanks for your reply, Blackwatch, and it's comforting to know that it's not just my content that provokes this message. As I don't use Download Page, I thought I would have a go and downloaded one of the newest station buildings by another creator - BR 1970's style renameable station building, KUID 45137:102669 which has only been available from today - and when I tried to extract, I found exactly the same message. I then extracted and it appeared in my downloads folder. So I'm not sure what advice to give - perhaps to try Download Helper as I've always found that to be satisfactory.

Best wishes, Ray

I should have said that I tried this station building in TRS2004 and there were no problems - in fact it's the kind of building that I've been looking for, so thanks also to nexusdj for an excellent model.
