In times of conglomeration and buyouts, the Ultramegaroute has not been exempt either, and has joined forces and agreed to share trackage rights with ESO's Desert Mountain Plains subdivision. This union of the two routes now adds an additional 70 miles or so of mainline trackage, as well as dozens of new industrial opportunities, and five new passenger stations.

Updates to this story as they become available.

o.o a little much on the horsepower there

and thats awsome i cant wait to run it :D

Haha, well, the dummy that built this route in the first place (me) didn't seem to pay too much attention to grades, so 4% grades are not uncommon. I really did need all 10 locos to haul the 11000 ton coal train!:hehe:

I'm still running it extensively to check for problems. So far things are going really well, and the number of things that need repairing are just about nil.

This route is for 09, and should be run in compatibility mode for best results. Also, a fairly powerful machine with a good video card is recommended.

I'll try to submit this to the dls within the next month or two.

Neil, if you upload it to the DLS it might be impossible to get it for one who has no FCT. You cannot use a download manager at the DLS anyway.
Some thoughts about the old version with which I am quite happy at the moment. I run it in TS2009 build 40040 without problems. Only question I have is about the switchstands. I always thought that the switchstands show the red disc if the switch is set for the diverging route. At least philskene uses them that way in his PO&N route. You didn't seem to be very consistent in the UMR. I notice many places where you see the red disc with the switch set to the straight route. As far as I know (and I use them myself) there are two long and two short versions which you use dependent on whether the lever is on the outside or the inside of the switch and whether it is a left or a right switch. I try them out at every single switch where I place such levers.

You are absolutely right about the switchstands. They have since been changed and are all positioned correctly.

I've been working on this route steadily for the last 6 months, and have deleted and/or replaced all the faulty assets. CM2 now shows it as having no errors.

Another big change has been the reduction of the steep grades. All grades are now under 2%, which, admittedly is still pretty steep, but a little more realistic than the 4%+ grades that used to exist.

There have been 4 new commodities added, and I've been trying to eliminate all the "flashing" trees. Also, I've deleted all the tree splines, and replaced them with individual trees.

As far as the signals go, I'm pretty sure that all of the signals are available on the dls now. The ones that were not available have been deleted.

I'm pretty sure that all assets are available on the dls, so it should be a pretty clean download. But you are right - a FCT is pretty much necessary, unless you don't mind leaving your computer on for a day or two. At last count, there were a little over 1700 assets that need to be downloaded.

I haven't submitted it to the dls yet - I may actually try it out in ts2010, to see how things look, and then release it for 2010 instead of 2009.

If you're interested in checking out the latest version, send me a PM with your email address, and I can send you the CDP.

Hope that helps
