Seen as the UK Screenshots thread was meant to be route screenshots lets make one for loco's. As long as the loco is baced on the UK and the route is UK baced non-UK content is allowed in the background

Regarding that power car.....let me be honest. You're creating an updated(?) version of the Auran power car. Nexusdj has already done that, and is also working on another version which looks even better.

Your version has awful texturing (don't shoot me, I'm just being honest). The textures are jagged, sloppy and look blurred in places. Nobody will download your power car.......why would they when Nexus has already released such a great one? I think you would be undermining the many hours he's spent on his version if you pursued finishing yours, as effectively you would be copying a project that has long been his.

I for one would download that HST power car if I was doing a modern layout, look 46035 everyone who takes an intreast in reskinning deserves to be encouraged not shot at by snobs, same goes for route building or modeling, if someone is having a go at something don't put them down, I would be very intreasted to know who gave you the title "Master of Reskinning" because they were very wrong, there is no such thing as a master, not even Harcourt is a master route builder nor Lielesto a master loco builder everyone creates things to the best of their ability just enjoy the game for what it is, no one is forcing you to download this powercar, I myself am not downloading any rolling stock that came into service after the end of steam, but I don't sit here having a go at others for doing modern routes, because its their choice and for their enjoyment, so long as at least one person is enjoying something just let them get on with it and stop putting people down.

I wasn't "putting him down", I was simply giving my honest opinion and saving him a lot of hassle creating something which has already been done. My posting wasn't intended to be cruel or anything, and I apolagise if it was interpreted like that. But I'm not gonna sit there and lie about what I really think......that's no way to get things done. It was just constructive criticism, and it's entirely his choice if he continues with it or not.

Regarding me being a "Master of Reskinning" - I feel that the quality of my output is extremely high, and I spend hours upon hours on reskins, ensuring that they are 100% accurate and detailed. Other people have kindly commented on my graphic skills outside of the forums, and have said how great my reskins are. You can't expect someone to perform at their best and then not brag about it

@46035: since that version I have done alot to the textures and YOU may not want to download it but you are not everyone. also a porject isn't just someones. Different creators bring diffrent things to the models so it is good having diffrent creators of the same content.

Well not all my reskins are photo textured as such......some are textured normal and done from scratch, except I have many methods for making basic textures which still look realistic. Overall though, photo textures are the way forward, as you are putting a graphic on to a model which comes directly from the real thing.....can't get more realistic than that!

as you know, that is my opinion, and I have a few of yours (I think) that don't use photo texture

photo texture is OK IMO on open wagons etc, and for detail such as lights etc on locos

I guess if you stick around here for a while, you see the same discussions coming up again and again.

I can't really see how it is any problem at all if tardis626 uploads his creations. At worst he will have gained experience and no-one will download the result. Far more likely is that some-one will fancy them, download them and enjoy using them. Call me old fashioned (you're old fashioned ) but I'm blowed if I can see anything wrong in that.

Bear Amigacoke's comments in mind, there is much wisdom in his words.

I wouldn't criticise the quality of your work as much as the livery chosen. All those who skin started somewhere and there's far, far, far worst available on the DLS.

Funny how arguments in UK screenshots have flooded into here, some of you guys don't seem secure about your work. If everyone enjoys themselves, work hard and don't go off-topic why wind yourselves up?

NB: Not fair play to insert screenshots of payware items in a general thread. False hopes...

REALLY? So it doesn't matter that I still spend hours doing reskins just to please those who actually appreciate them?? Also consider that I'm working with quite a few other content creators on the inside, as I'm doing texturing for their Trainz models

I have already explained that my posting wasn't meant to be snobbish or nasty, so just accept it and move on

Can't really say anything else on the matter, other than that I'll be spending more time on UK Trainz from now on. I might consider this forum more when people get off their high horse and learn to have some manners and general consideration for other members and their work.
