hi guys, im new here, but looking for UK items for making my layout..

What im mostly after is the track, ive seen some nice pics of UK layouts with good looking track but it dont say what track it is & on the DLS theres 1000's :(

so any links for nice looking track for the UK would be cool :-)

As for the locos i will jsut browse the DLS.. but offhand are there any class 20's & DMU's (the DMU's i would like are the blue & white type ones with yellow fronts) .. im going to build my layout around the time of the 80's.

finally.. some nice foilage! ..the ones ive seen so far look ... well lets just say not great! ..i would like some foilage that looks realistic, in the distance i will use what ever to keep the poly count down, but close to track etc i want the best i can get! :-)

cheers in advance guys!

Daz :-)

for the DMUs, search "Class 101" on the DLS and you should find the BR blue and grey version as well as may others

also try "class 117" and "class 121"

For good looking track look at the thread "Great Looking Track" further down this page.I use all track by Delsoft. For greenery follow this link http://www.greenery.name/mstsgcz/mstsgs.htm - their "Grass Shrubbery 01" is the best looking lineside vegetation IMO. Remember its from an external website so you'll recieve it as a CDP so you'll have to Commit it.For DMUs Search Username "Kemplen" on the DLS - he has done a lovely Class 124 Transpennine unit. You don't say what version of Trainz you have but if its TC3 the Class 20s won't work in TC3, sadly.

hmm that external website for the trees & shrubs etc, its foreign & i dont understand it, how do i download from it? ...its exactly what im looking for!

Click on "ke stazeni" and there are 2 pages of assets.Click on the title of each one and select Save in the window which opens. In TRS2006 you have to open the CDPs and then Commit them but I can't remember how its done in TRS2004.BTW if you want a funky UK loco try Kemplens Metrovick Co-Bo KUID: 84609:50081.

hmm

i followed your instructions but when i click on "ke stazeni" all i see is a tutorial link & a screenshot :s ?

ahh nevermind, sussed it :D ...thanks!

Hi Daz,
For a good looking UK track I use andi06's single and double track, and his automated junctions.
No disrespect meant to other track producers, I think it's just a item of personal preferences.
If you download any of the above, make sure you get the correct update for your version, 2004 / 2006 and the dependencies.
Cheers
Pete.
