UK Content Creators of the last 20+ years.

Socialist Serenade
As I go through the DLS looking to see what locos, rolling stock, roads, scenery, etc. I want for my route, I occasionally come across a name and think 'Oh yeah!' and remember how much of their content I enjoyed in the past.
Then, when one of these assets mentions that it's a reskin of something made by another name, I think 'Oh yeah!", and I go down that rabbit hole, downloading what I want from their creations.

You get the point. :)

I'm currently working my way through content by Marky, Nexus, MGreen48 and Tom Young of course, but until I see the name, I won't remember to look for them...if you know what I mean.

I could just scroll endlessly through Content Manager, and a name might catch my eye, but I thought I'd ask here and get some recommendations from those that have been around here for as long as I have (and some longer).

We're talking locos, rolling stock, scenery, pretty much anything UK really.

Does Terry's content work OK in modern versions of Trainz (TafWeb)?
I'm sure they're probably quite low res by today's standards, but I have to have some TafWeb content in my route as a mark of respect for the man who not only gave us loads of great content, but also allowed us to have some control over the huge amount of assets we'd downloaded before Content Manager was a thing (TrainzObjectz).

Looking forward to some familiar names, and maybe some new ones.

Cheers.

Aha!
And the first person to reply is one of those names!
Hello John.

I've used so much of your content over the years.
I really should back-up the content I download.
This time around I will.

Great site.
And while I was looking through it, I saw another creator who I needed to remember; Skipper1945.
I'm going to be spending a lot of time looking through your site.

Thanks John.
It's much appreciated.

Magandy, cmburgess, brook, eldavo, honeymonster1971... a fair few but to be fair I'm not sure how far some of these go back. These were the active creators when I first got into Trainz in 2008 and UKBL was the go to place for UK content.

Cheers,

PLP
Yes!
All of those.
I was looking at something by Magandy the other day, but I've yet to go through the DLS and check all his content out.
And since I posted this thread, the names James73 and Mike10 popped into my head.

I remember Eldavo was selling some pretty good locos back in the day, and then stopped.
I don't think he uploaded them to the DLS. I'm pretty sure he didn't.

Loads of names to go through there.
Thanks.
I'm going to be busy. (y)

So many familiar names.
Thanks so much everyone.
The days when the Trainz community was something to be proud of, and the UK scene was thriving.

I'm going to have a blast going through all these over the next couple of weeks. (y)

Hi Smiley,

Welcome to your return in TrainZ :) !
I'm not sure anymore, but it seems me we exchange some thoughts and experiments while beta-testing the new scripts and "scenarios" (now sessions) for UTC or TrainZ 3 ...

Cheers,

Philippe

Hi Java.

Yes, I remember it well.
There weren't many of us coders on the beta team, and a couple of them only showed up in the beta forum with a question if they were having a problem with scripts for something they wanted to sell, and rarely submitted bugs.

The rest of us picked up the slack, and put all our time and energy into the birth of Trainzscript, and then further down the line, we did the same for the Rules and Driver Command system.
I remember you and I having many discussions on trying to fix things, and trying to break other things. :)
(I think that's around the time I wrote StopGap).

Trainzscript has come a long way, and it's impressive how much it can do now (we still have rubbish AI though! )

Good times, and an era when N3V (Auran) were much more inclusive and generous.

Good to see you're still in the community.
Hope you're well mate.

Brian.

Masontaylor is still very much with us and producing content. However, two names which come to mind who have gone from this world are andi06 and bendorsey. In both cases I think that their original meshes were lost. In the former case I think his brother or brother in law hoped to retrieve them but to the best I can recall it never materialised. In the case of the latter I believe ben's family just threw his computer out.

Cheers everyone.
I've pretty much finished that first list, and now I have more to go through.
And a lot of familiar names again.

Because of this thread, I have a lot more UK content than I thought I would; some I had in the past, and a lot that I didn't know about.
Hopefully this thread will help others looking for UK content too.

Thanks all. (y)
