TZ2011 Steam Engines

I want to find steam engines that are compatabile with TZ2011. Anyone got any suggestions where to look?

Yes, sorry about that. I just bought TZ12 and would like to add more steam engines to it. It came with only two.

OK. I just bought Trainz Simulator 12. It comes with only two steam engines and I would like to add more. Where can I find additional Trainz Smulator 12 compatible steam engines? There does not appear to be any on the Download Station that are compatible with this version.

Most steam locos will work even if they are for an earlier version. Provided they are error free they should be fine. If not then there are threads on how to correct the errors.

Are you interested in just USA steam locos or any?

Hi John and thanks for your reply. I'm mostly interested in US engines. I'll try downloading some from the DLS and see how they work. I'll get back to you if I have any problems.

They should be in your downloads file. In 2012, open CMP, file, import CDP. You may need to commit them if auto commit is not enabled. May I also suggest that you take a look at the Blue Comet Pack. These engines are well detailed and sound great.

Hi John. I successfully downloaded about six or seven steam engines and, following your instructions, opened them in Content Manager. The names appear in Railyard but no image. I must need to do something else. Any suggestions?

Check them with Content Manager for errors or missing dependencies. Post the loco's kuid numbers.

List them. Most are there but the DLS doesn't always pick them up. The web interface and ftp actually works very well for items that are missing.

The missing kuids are probably on 3rd party sites. For instance, bdaneal didn't put all dependencies in all of his locos, however, they're on his site. Post the kuid numbers of locos with problems and we'll help.

You still don't get it! You've listed the kuids of the locos and tenders, not the kuid numbers of what kuids are missing. In Content Manager, click the kuid of a faulty loco, select View Dependencies, click the View in main list button. Now copy the kuid numbers of those assets that has a ? and post those numbers.

Here's a WAG: A bunch of those can probably be wiped out by downloading the common files and cab below the heading "Baldwin Shortline Locomotives." 315 should be taken care of by downloading the "C-18 Common Files." All three of those links can be found on the pages where you downloaded those engines from in the first place.

IIRC, 4810, 4820 and 4850 use default content which might not be included in newer versions of Trainz. You may need to set them up with suitable replacement dependencies.
