Two Trains, Two Speeds !

Hi again, Is it possible two have two separate line speeds depending on the particular train ? Along the lies of " if train A is an express make it go at speed x through a station, for example. While, if train B is a goods make it go at a slower speed Y through the same station ? I can't help thinking there is a simple solution but I just can't see it. As far as I can see all speed signs on the DLS are absolute (i.e. apply to all trains equally) and I've not seen any rules that can achieve this ? many thanks.

There was a line you could put into the config of a wagon which was called max permitted speed. As far as I know this may still be the case. Any train would only go as fast as the lowest assigned wagon. Example three wagons with 50, 30 and 20 max permitted speed meant the max speed of the train was set at 20, the permitted speed by the lowest wagon.

Depends on the max speed of the loco in the config file.

Author bnsf50, looks like differential speed signs for passenger and freight. Author kuid 39134.

There are a number of ways of doing this. There are variable speed signs available where you set different speeds based in what priority you have set for the consist, but the method I prefer is to use the driver command 'Set Max Speed To' (kuid2:450022:90001:1). If you include this command in a consist's driver command list you can set what maximum speed you want that consist to run at without affecting other consists. You can include this command a number of times on the same consist and change the maximum speed at different parts of the route.

Update max speed

You could consider this asset I made:
Update max speed and priority,<kuid2:645812:100106:5>
Changes consist maximum speed and/or priority based on conditions.
Only visible in surveyor.

Will check for:
- Load (not relevant / at least 1 car loaded with...[specific product] / no cars loaded with...[specific product])
- Train control (AI / all)
- Name of the front engine;
-- Prefix (same as, not the same as, not relevant)
-- Postfix (same as, not the same as, not relevant)
- Current prio (1-3 / not relevant)
- Same direction (Yes / not relevant)
- Consist build-up ( engines only / empty cars / at least 1 loaded car / not relevant)

Note that the maximum speed will only be adjusted downwards. This is not what I wanted but what the game permits. So: Start with a sign for the highest speed and adjust those trains needed to go a slower speed.
